OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: "I don't even know a dramatic enough word to use… models can find bugs that are outside of the normal threat model of what we think a hacker can do… hardware-level, insane stuff… I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs."

Governments keep telling us ID checks will make the internet safer. Here is what an ID check actually did for a woman in Pennsylvania.
Cash App demanded Social Security numbers to stop fraud. Hers leaked in a data breach, a scammer opened an account with it, and the police arrested her for his crime. She spent three nights in jail. Cash App now refuses to show her the account because she can’t prove it’s hers, which is exactly what she has been telling them.
Every ID check builds another vault of stolen identities waiting to happen. The more of them we’re forced through, the easier fraud gets, and the people paying for it are the ones who did everything they were told.

🔥 BIG: Google says it has cracked one of quantum computing’s toughest bottlenecks, using “magic state cultivation” on its Willow chip to cut errors by roughly 40x.
I didn’t come to crypto to put my financial life on a public scoreboard.
Privacy belongs on the base layer. Cryptography should protect the human, not just secure the ledger.
That’s my $ZEC thesis. Opting out should actually mean opting out.

your ex is out there repeating your philosophies to some new person who now thinks they're deep.
Hi @thsottiaux - It would be great if Codex ran compaction when the human is detected as idle when nearing limits...
Scenario - I leave a long running prompt going, walk away. When I come back, I find that it has finished the task. I type a short follow-up question, then boom I have to wait for a few minutes for compaction and sit on my hands. Boring!
People try to do well to outrun this crap, then they want to punish you for that too. Do you just want people to give up and stop trying? STOP PUNISHING SUCCESS
A teacher earning $60,000 pays Social Security taxes on every dollar she earns.
A worker earning $184,500 does, too.
But someone earning $1 million pays the tax on just the first $184,500. Nothing more.
Yes, the country’s billionaires pay into Social Security as if they make $184,500.
That doesn’t make sense.
So I have a bill to eliminate this arbitrary cap on Social Security taxes.
If those with the highest incomes just paid the same share as everyone else, we could inject around $3 TRILLION into the program over the next 10 years.
I'm fighting hard to protect Social Security.
This is cool, but seems fundamentally backwards. The private chain should be the base chain.
Bitcoin has had zCash technology since 2021
It’s called zSide and it’s a drivechain secured by hashrate escrow
But Bitcoin maxis didn’t want it, because anything that makes Bitcoin better is called "shitcoinery"
ECASH.com will have zCash privacy, prediction markets, and much more- without changing Bitcoin Core at all
