In the name of Allah, God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. All praise and thanks belong to God, who is One and has no partner. May peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, his family, his companions and all of God's prophets and messengers...

Something is going horribly wrong in the Senate race in Michigan. And I am going to keep calling it out.
On the one hand, the Republicans are conducting a campaign of blatant anti-Muslim fear mongering. Mike Rogers, Donald Trump and the rest of the GOP need to knock it off. Mike needs to personally and repeatedly denounce hate against Muslims.
But now, at the same time, we have TWO ads from the Democratic side that ALSO traffic in hate and intolerance — causing alarm for some Black and Jewish voters.
Seriously— WTF ????
The first ad was from Rebellion PAC (NOT the official Abdul El-Sayyed campaign). It suggested that Americans can’t buy groceries because the USA sends so much money to Israel.
That is a lie. The USA spends less than 00.1 percent of our federal budget on support for Israel. But this ad pretends bananas cost too much because the Jewish state is bleeding us dry. TOTALLY nuts. And yet — this kind of thinking has always put Jewish lives at risk. Blaming Jews for everyone’s economic problems has a long, bloody history.
Abdul did try to separate himself from the ad. He accurately noted that his campaign didn’t produce it. But the problem is: if you listen, Abdul actually NEVER DENOUNCED the CONTENT of the ad. He never said, “This ad is wrong.”
He just said, “Hey, it wasn’t me.” 😬😬😬
That ad — and Abdul’s refusal to forthrightly denounce it — is scaring some Jewish Democrats in Michigan, who now are more reluctant to vote for him.
In other words, that one ad alone is jeopardizing our party’s shot at taking back the U.S. Senate.
BUT IT GETS WORSE!
Then Abdul’s formal, official campaign put out its OWN ad — which features none other than the vile and contemptible Tucker Carlson (!!!). As you know, Tucker Carlson is a rabid, anti-Black bigot who also traffics in anti-Jewish stereotypes. He is anathema to most Black people and most Jews.
No Democrat should ever celebrate the words of a white nationalist who actively undermines the safety of Black people and Jewish people.
Moreover, given the importance of Black and Jewish Democrats to our victory in Michigan, the decision to include Tucker Carlson in any Democratic ad there is truly baffling.
Why am I speaking out about this now? Because I want Democrats to build a winning coalition — now and into the future. Chasing off any Black or Jewish voters is a path to defeat — both in the short term and the long term.
As proud Democrats, it can feel uncomfortable or risky to speak against intolerance in our own party, especially just days before a national election. It would be easier for us to let this stuff slide, shut up and close ranks.
But that would make us hypocrites. For 10 years, we Democrats have watched with dismay and disgust as Republicans (who know better) have refused to challenge ANY bad ideas or bad actions in their own ranks. As a result, their party curdled into a cult — one that is now wrecking the country AND falling apart.
As Democrats, we should not make the same mistake.
Anti-Muslim hate is wrong. Period.
Anti-Jewish hate is wrong. Period.
Tucker Carlson’s white nationalism is wrong. Period.
All candidates in Michigan need to say that clearly— and then pull down/denounce any ads that normalize hate or elevate hate mongers.

In 30+ years in politics and media, I've never seen a primary candidate who vastly outspent their opponent and lost then use the final days of the general election trying to still make the election about themselves and to sabotage their party. A truly epic commitment to the bit.

This is for EVERY Democrat who desires to criticize Abdul Al-Sayed, Angie Nixon or ANY OTHER candidate five days before Election Day: STFU! Especially you @RepHaleyStevens @HaleyforMI
Genuinely one of the most corrupt men in politics if you measure the gap between his professed values and how he operates.

EL-SAYED to TRUMP: I will go through a metal detector if you will sit for a lie detector. My first question, Epstein. Second question, did you win the 2020 election? I will go through a metal detector every day if you sit through a lie detector one time.

Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

Imagine if a sitting Republican senator said voters should reject Jon Ossoff or Josh Shapiro because they reject Jesus. That would be a big story. This won't be because Islamophobia from powerful Republicans is simply the norm. It's why there's no comparison between the level of Islamophobia and the level of antisemitism in America today. Only one is actively promoted by the state. peterbeinart.substack.com/p/…

For the last several years, powerful politicians have increasingly said your freedom comes with their conditions. They must approve of how you look. They must approve of what you think. They must approve of how you worship. They must approve of your heritage. If you do not meet their approval, you do not belong. Their vision of American democracy does not work for you. It serves them…

Everyday, a prominent Republican - the president, a cabinet official, a primetime Fox host, the Michigan Senate candidate - says something insanely racist about Muslims or Arabs.
Meanwhile, my timeline is full of prominent Democrats and liberals getting mad about a random ad attacking Israel and screaming about antisemitism.
Crickets from them on the out-of-control Islamophobia from the GOP.

I genuinely believe Trump has spent years trying to prove he’s better than Barack Obama, and I think it eats him alive that a Black man accomplished things he desperately wants for himself.
Obama is highly educated, charismatic, handsome, respected around the world, and a Nobel Peace Prize winner. And no matter how many times Trump insults him, he can’t erase those accomplishments.
What makes it worse is that Trump spent years pushing racist conspiracy theories about Obama’s legitimacy as president. Instead of focusing on policies that actually improve people’s lives, he repeatedly resorts to personal attacks, division, and inflammatory rhetoric.
To me it looks like jealousy mixed with an inability to accept that a Black man achieved something he can’t simply buy, bully, or insult his way into.
You can become president, but that doesn’t automatically earn you respect. And tearing another man down won’t make you greater than him.

Heartbreaking. Heartbreaking. Heartbreaking.
Eight-year-old Fatima Hisham al-Bayook has succumbed to her injuries after being struck by an Israeli bullet a few days ago east of Deir al-Balah, Gaza.
There had been desperate pleas for her urgent medical evacuation in the hope of saving her life.
After contacting her family, I can also confirm that Fatima’s mother and two younger siblings were killed in an Israeli strike on December 13, 2023.
Her siblings were Leen, a baby less than a year old, and Asaad, just three years old.
Israel’s terror and the systematic destruction of Palestinian families continue to unfold before the eyes of the world.
Remember their names.

The Islamophobia in the Michigan Senate race is officially at nuclear-grade levels.
1. Ted Cruz claiming Abdul El-Sayed might share classified intel with the Muslim Brotherhood and terrorists
2. Trump calling AES "Mohammed" and mocking his name
3. Mike Rogers trying to tie AES's biological mom, whom he stopped being raised by when he was 3, to Al-Qaeda
This stuff is more pernicious than most people acknowledge today. Republicans could win this race by challenging AES's ideas, but they apparently can't help themselves but fear monger about his faith.
Florida Rep. Randy Fine wrote: “We need more Islamophobia, not less. Fear of Islam is rational.”
Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles: Muslims “don’t belong in American society.”
Alabama Sen Tommy Tuberville saying “The enemy is inside the gates" about Zohran, next to pictures of the Twin Towers burning on 9/11.
It has a very particular, distinct post 9/11 vibe to it. Really, really unhinged and ugly shit, and not nearly enough people calling it out.

The commander of the Israeli military unit likely responsible for killing 5-year-old Hind Rajab is currently in the U.S.
As a party to the Genocide Convention and the Geneva Conventions, our government is obligated to arrest and investigate him for these war crimes and acts of genocide. I stand with @HindRFoundation in calling on the DOJ to follow the law and take action.
🇺🇸🚨 The #HindRajabFoundation has filed an urgent request with the U.S. Department of Justice, demanding the immediate investigation, arrest, and prosecution of Sean Glass, currently present in the United States. Glass commanded the Israeli unit implicated in Hind Rajab's murder. HRF's investigation places the 52nd Battalion—including Glass and his Vampire Empire Company—near her vehicle during the killing. Today, Glass walks free in the U.S.

Phillip: Trump said he was a jihadist.
Mercurio: The implication by Kid Rock that El-Sayed, because of his religion, is a terrorist. Let me tell you something. I'm a Roman catholic. I'm a terrorist because Timothy Mcveigh was a Roman Catholic? In fact, if we want to go there, I'm Italian. Guess what, Kid Rock. I'm in the mob?

The growing obsession with American Muslims exhibited by President Trump and various other politicians is a sign of political desperation and deep insecurity. American Muslims make up a small percentage of our nation's population, yet they have occupied nearly 100 percent of their attention.
Why?
Desperate politicians want to scapegoat American Muslims to distract the public from their own failures on real issues like rising inflation and the cost-of-living crisis.
Anti-Muslim extremists who hate America's diversity want to stop American Muslims from playing an increasingly positive and prominent role in public life.
Anti-Palestinian extremists want to use Islamophobia to silence American Muslims who oppose the waste of taxpayer dollars on endless wars and on Israel's human rights abuses.
None of these groups care if their cynical hatred inspires more violence against their fellow Americans, like the deadly attack on the Islamic Center of San Diego, the firebombing of mosques in Minnesota, and the stabbing of a six-year-old Palestinian Muslim child Wadea Al Fayoume outside of Chicago. But we are confident that all of these hateful voices will ultimately fail.
President Trump can mock the name Muhammad all he wants, but it will not change the fact that the name Muhammad is mentioned with respect across our nation and will be mentioned with respect long after he leaves office and long after anti-Muslim hysteria joins anti-Catholic hysteria in the dustbin of history, God willing.
Americans named Muhammad will continue to contribute to our nation as doctors, entrepreneurs, elected officials, and more.
Americans of all backgrounds will continue to honor Muhammad Ali as one of the greatest athletes of conscience of all time.
The U.S. Supreme Court will continue to identify Prophet Muhammad as one of history's great lawgivers.
And American Muslims will continue to proudly practice their faith, treat their neighbors well, and advocate for causes of justice, all inspired by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings be upon him.

For more than a year, the governor of Texas, the attorney general, and other Texas politicans have attacked EPIC masjid by name. This past week, Texas Monthly independently published an investigation titled “How Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton Trumped Up Fraud Charges Against a Muslim Community.” In March of last year, Abbott’s office drew up a secret memo listing every law the state could use against EPIC. However, the state’s own securities regulator reviewed 100,000 pages and found no securities violation. Paxton sued us anyway, and when that regulator publicly called Paxton’s claim “a wholly false statement,” he was pushed out of his job. Meanwhile, our masjid has received bomb threats and our own kids are scared to come the mosque. See the full timeline below
