To be clear consent is NEVER the reason why child sexual abuse happens in families historically. Children must be taught BOUNDARIES and BODY AGENCY, before age of consent. Otherwise you imply that if a child consents to an adult sexually touching them, that's ok.
If you truly believe teaching kids about consent in low stake situations is pointless and "anti-family"

Phew. I've found grandads who can be hugged. Children's Books Ireland gets about €400,000 annually from government funds & they had Harry Woodgate at their International conference in 2024, & promoted Harry's book for 3- 8 year olds, which has grandads hugging. Thanks, Harry.

As I watched them, a deep sigh escaped my heart, and my eyes filled with tears of pain. I looked at them and thought, What a different world we live in!
While women in many parts of the world can exercise, ride bicycles, study, and enjoy the freedom of everyday life, girls in my homeland, Afghanistan, are denied even the most basic right to education simply because they are girls.
They cannot even walk through the doors of a school to build their futures, let alone enjoy the freedom to exercise outdoors or ride a bicycle without fear and restrictions.💔

I'm all for children expressing whether they want a hug or not and respecting their boundaries, but this is ridiculous, in no time in history grandmothers have been a high risk of sexual child abuse.
I've watched the new We-Consent ad, carrying the Cuan logo and the State harp.
Grandparents arrive at the front door. Granny goes in for a hug and a kiss. The granddaughter cringes. The message: "Not everyone wants a hug. Even from the people who love them."
Nobody should force a child to hug anyone. Parents know that. But this is a campaign about sexual violence, and it has no business casting an Irish granny at the front door as the problem. That blurs two very different things and insults a lot of decent families.
I'll be asking the Minister for Justice what this ad cost and who signed off on it.

I’m taking a break from my break on here to say that the reason this ad was made, was to put the idea in people’s heads that consent is the ONLY thing that matters.
It was made to imply that a child can consent to things that they do not have the capacity to actually consent to.
It is directing the general public’s thoughts towards accepting pedophilia. Start with child not consenting so it’s not ok, and then as long as the child ‘consents’ -there is nothing wrong with it. This is Peter Tatchell level stuff.
