Remarkable that this happened in Kelowna again. Last year, in this very city, a man was granted bail after he was convicted of domestic violence. Hours after getting out of court, he tracked down his estranged wife and beat her to death in a parking lot.

When a journalist who has been on TV tells a candidate for election to kill themselves, we all must take note.
Those kinds of statements belong nowhere in a humane society.

The BC Human Rights Tribunal has dismissed a five-year-old complaint by trans-identifying Jessica Simpson (formerly Jonathan Yaniv) against Langley firefighters. Lawyers funded by the Justice Centre have successfully defended estheticians and Canada Galaxy Pageants against Simpson’s complaints. They are now defending journalist Barbara Kay, author Meghan Murphy, and advocate Kari Simpson against complaints over their public statements on gender identity.

The Canadian government can't just give all temporary residents PR unless they want to permanently entrench this gender imbalance into our demographics.
It's pickle. This is what happens when temp residents skew overwhelmingly male and prior govt had no handle on the situation
Must admit @keaninloomis is speaking my language.
Maybe he actually has a vision and guts...maybe he realizes that this overwhelmingly fiscally conservative and non-activist Council will hold his feet to the fire.
Either way, cant close the @AndreaHorwath chapter fast enough.

This is what eventually happens when you let socialists run government. It's only a matter of time. Portland, OR. is in trouble.
Portland’s Royal Sonesta: bought for $108.3M in 2016. Now reportedly sold for $6.83M for 220 rooms—just $31,000 per key. A staggering 93.7% price collapse.
This is what happens when government fails at public safety, downtown disorder spirals, Measure 110’s consequences go unaddressed, and Multnomah County’s mental-health system fails people in crisis.
Tourism doesn’t thrive where visitors feel unsafe and downtown businesses struggle to survive.
Portland didn’t get here by accident. Policy choices have consequences—and taxpayers, workers, businesses, and property owners are paying the price.

From turfing Mayor Horwath to the cascade of new councillors, Hamilton delivered a mandate to our new government: Stop the Poverty Industry. Shut down the "pharmacies" profiting off of poison. Lock up the bad guys. Will Loomis deliver?

She didn't even attend her campaign night event and left her supporters in the dark before sending them home early. I'm so glad Loomis will replace her.

This is wrong. There is no excuse. PERIOD.
Everyone should follow the same laws & do the same time for the same crime, regardless of race.

Following their historic landslide victory, the BC Conservatives have secured a majority government. Yet beyond the legislature, the NDP continue to control nearly every public body, from ICBC to BC Ferries, filling key positions with their own appointees.
Without holding government, the NDP still command the state apparatus. They have never been the province's 'natural governing party', but if allowed to maintain their institutional footprint, they will come to be seen as the norm rather than the exception.
If the @Conservative_BC intend to undo the last decade, they must purge these partisans, shrink the government payroll, and reform the public sector. Policy is essential, but political power is decisive, and without broader institutional control, the new government will be left managing a hostile bureaucracy.

Be dammed with the whole murdering and paralyzing women. That Mr Ewert defended himself is the most important point. GTFOH clown.
Replying to @mitchgarber
So if Mr Ewert was cleaning toilets at McGill you’d be fine with that, ya? You want to talk about meritocracy. He did heavy lifting on a major judgement in his favour in the Supreme Court of Canada. Most law students at McGill will never achieve that.
We hope Ward 3 residents make the 12 Days of Nann-OWeen a bad memory too.
Cosplaying a militant activist for 8 years, with a part-time gig as a City Councilor, Clr Nann has ignored or smeared those she doesn't agree with, with a self-serving eye on her next presumed office.
Well, like all unbearable things, even the 12 Days of Kroetsch'Mas have come to an end.
Get out and vote today, to turn the page on this era of selective representation for activists.
Choose those who prioritize community safety over ideology, and families over criminals.
