Hey aspiring pro creatives: I’ve been making games for 20+ years and still have crushing impostor syndrome. I assume my successes are pure luck and quietly agree with every critical jab calling me an overrated hack. You’re not alone. The fear never disappears. That’s okay

After an unexpected hiatus, we're back! This episode we interview @AlexHorne on the design of taskmaster and how we can take those lessons and apply them to board game design. It was a ton of fun, and our first ever 3 person episode! jellybean.games/funproblems/

Astute listeners may have noticed a new episode hasn't gone up in a while. Due to a family emergency AJ hasn't been able to edit/upload. You can expect the next one in 2 weeks. Take care of yourselves!

Reminder that AJ will be streaming Inscryption (Kaycees mod) from 7-9 EST tonight! Join to chat, or just listen to his thoughts on the design of the game! It will be through discord here; discord.gg/jtx5zv7qq8
I've been really enjoying @DecisionSpa lately. If you want to listen to smart people talking about the decision space in a variety of games definitely check them out! If you enjoy our show you'll probably enjoy theirs.

Can we take a minute to appreciate #Canvas by @R2iGames? It is BY FAR the best product design I've ever seen. It hangs on a wall like a painting, and even has the discipline to not put the title on it. Thinking of your game as a product can help inform the direction of #design.

If I was redoing my "Why your (GOOD) game won't sell" talk, this would be the poster child for good product design. @gamedesign bit.ly/3ETqQBu

Steam awards innovative category is missing the most innovative games I've played this year; The Vale (an action game where you play a blind character and literally have to fight by audio cues alone) and Before Your Eyes, a walking simulator that uses your webcam to track eyes.
Need some time away from the family over Christmas? Read my latest: “GameTek #12: Generation P”, a deep dive into incorporating Procedural Generation into tabletop games. getrevue.co/profile/gengelst…

#thegreatwall features semi co-op elements, which I'm always wary of, but interested in. One element I quite liked is that defeating a group of invaders heavily rewards the person who does the most work, but also gives bonuses to everyone else who contributed. #gamedesign

@peterchayward's new game is LIVE on KS!! I first played this years ago, before I worked for him, and even back then it was one of my favourites in the genre. Today it's even BETTER! Check it out and consider backing :) kickstarter.com/projects/pet…

Even backing for $1 is a great way to support our podcast. Your support is always appreciated :)

I haven't checked with the publisher, but I think it's fair to say that these Yogi cards will never be printed. :-P boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/1… Inspired by the latest @FunProblemsPod (where AJ suggests a card asking you to run a marathon would make it a very different game).

Going Analog had Peter on for their most recent episode to talk about worker placements and Robotopia, asked @peterchayward a question so good I am totally going to use it for our fun question segment, and Christina officially confirms that @EhJBrandon is her nemesis. What a show!
