The #COVIDInquiry has shown the serious failures in #SocialCare during the pandemic. Disabled people paid an unacceptable price when social care was treated as an afterthought. #DisabledPeople must be involved to shape these reforms. Read our response: tinyurl.com/bdh4m9nj

I will say this- again.
In a safety critical 'industry' like healthcare?
Lesser trained staff usage-at scale-will cause harm.
You will 'get away with it' a lot of times.
Yet all it needs is 'one miss'.
And the higher training reduces the chance of that 'one' - it's what training is all about.
If you don't understand that?
You fail safety issues
And you fail as an educator and trainer.
Thank you @JanetEastham for continuing to raise the issue.
The irony?
Every single person responsible for such decisions regards 'what the public can have' - reaches out to a doctor when they need help for their loved one.
'Cake for me. None for you.'
Dylan Cope died after an A&E nurse practitioner mistook his abdominal pain for flu, having ignored his GPโs referral for suspected appendicitis. His family thought she was a doctor.
A coroner found he would have survived had a senior doctor examined him.

YOUR ATTENTION:
๐จEvery new COVID-19 (re)infection elevates your cardiovascular risk profile. Even mild cases can raise the odds of a heart attack, stroke, heart failure, and other CV events for months to years afterward. Risk is higher with more severe illness, yes, but itโs certainly not limited to severe disease. Updated vaccination will show some mitigation(infection severityโ) but doesnโt give you a risk-free pass!

Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) can be a life altering and debilitating health condition.
#PoTS is an abnormality of the autonomic nervous system, which controls all bodily functions that we donโt have to think about.
Individuals experience orthostatic intolerance, which means that they mostly experience symptoms when in an upright position.
The majority of people with PoTS also have other related medical conditions such as hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, allergies, Long Covid and ME/CFS- all of which can make symptoms worse.
If you are new here please take the time to view the image thread below to learn some basics about PoTS:

Ahead of the Budget, the Disability Poverty Campaign Group is calling on the Chancellor to invest in Disabled people's lives, not deepen poverty through further cuts.
The Disability Poverty Campaign Group (DPCG) has sent a letter to the Chancellor, John Healey, urging him to break the endless cycle of disability poverty and to rebuild trust between the community and the government.
