My concern about Oxford St pedestrianisation which no one has picked up on - cuts to bus services & lack of choice for passengers with disabilities. 94 no longer serves Piccadilly to Marble Arch was always busy. Only option now 139 via Wigmour St to Portman Sq at 10min frequency

The ‘pedestrianised’ Oxford Street will descend into squalor: now that the government has abolished the vagrancy laws, it will become a tent city with ebikes and feral cyclists zooming through the campsite
Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount. Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success. So sad what they’ve done to Oxford Street. Its red buses, black taxi cabs and other traffic were a key part of what gave it such a buzz. I remember the excitement of Oxford Street in the late 70s when my Dad would take me to see the Christmas lights. The magic of London is being destroyed.

They haven't just diverted buses from Oxford Street; they've actually cut back several routes across central London. Along with restricted access for cars, taxis and cyclists this is hugely inconvenient for large numbers of transport users, including those with mobility issues.

Also, the notion that Oxford Street was 'dominated by traffic' is just not true. Lately it's been dominated by vape shops, tatty tourist stalls, pickpockets, fraudsters, so-called American candy shops and other money-laundering outlets, and those hideous rip-off Tuk-Tuk things covered in garish lights playing loud music. If @MayorofLondon wanted to revitalise Oxford Street, he should have made it a bus and black cab-only zone and clamped down on those monstrosities.
The whole of central London is in gridlock thanks to this

Entirely predictable, sadly. I should think they will never try and have it here again. Regent Street was blocked up for so long a rubbish lorry tried to pull out of the traffic at Oxford Circus and turn round.

Please Khan don’t give me ‘teething problems’…..you have been planning this for 6 /7 years. How could you fuck it up so badly day one ?
Oxford Street a complete mess. Looks like Eastern Europe before the Wall fell. No access for disabled people & I might be able to walk from the circus to Selfridges , but many people can’t. Another Disgrace from our useless Mayor.

Popped my Oxford Street cherry, blue line was the old route, red line was the new route. Couldn't use great Marlborough as it was shut. Route was ok, Vere Street junction could do with longer on red to get things moving a little but overall, seen it worst. Let's see next week😈
