Yes absolutely. The dues for the hunting period 2025-‘26 have STILL not been cleared. The previous DG Wildlife, Capt. (R) Muhammad Waseem was least interested in his job. He barely ever showed up to his office. Mercifully, he had been transferred, but the post remains vacant
With all due respect, Ma’am, the Punjab Wildlife Department is currently doing everything in its power to undermine the conservation progress made over the past few years. The primary reason this magnificent species has been preserved is the Community-Based Conservancy (CBC) model, introduced by the Punjab Government, which permits a limited number of trophy hunts annually while generating valuable foreign revenue for the province. As per the law, all payments collected by the department must be disbursed to the CBCs within 90 days of the hunting season ending on 31 March. We are now approaching the end of October, yet the Punjab Wildlife Department continues to withhold these payments. Such negligence undermines the conservation efforts your government has otherwise supported and erodes the public-private trust built between the government and CBCs over the years. Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. @MaryamNSharif @Marriyum_A @SaimaFarooq

Glorious herds of Punjab Urial roam the scrub forests of Chakwal’s Salt Range, reflecting the remarkable success of conservation efforts by the Punjab Government in transforming this unique landscape into a thriving biodiversity treasure of Pakistan.

For too long, frauds posing as education consultants have robbed families of their savings and shattered young dreams. Today, we mourn the tragic loss of a brilliant student. PGAN has pledged to take concrete steps to protect students and prevent such tragedies from happening again.
A gold medallist #Laibaejaz from the International Islamic University is dead. An "education consultant" reportedly took her family's savings for a US admission that never existed and the papers were forged. #Pakistan has no #law, #licence or #regulator for #educationconsultants. Anyone can open a shop and sell a dream. Our statement is below. PGAN will build a direct line between Pakistani students and admission offices, put a licensing framework before the Government, and publish guides to applying to the world's top universities. @PakPMO @CMShehbaz @MohsinnaqviC42

A Conversation with the UN Secretary-General | PGAN Roundtable, Islamabad We are pleased to share the full address and responses of @UN Secretary-General H.E. @antonioguterres during an exclusive roundtable hosted by the Pakistan Global Alumni Network (PGAN) in Islamabad on 6 October 2026. In a candid and engaging conversation with *20 PGAN members, alumni of some of the world's leading universities* , the @UNinPak Secretary-General reflected on Pakistan’s relationship with the United Nations, the challenges facing multilateralism, global peace and security, climate change, artificial intelligence, and the immense potential of Pakistan’s young people. The Secretary-General also acknowledged the Pakistan Global Alumni Network and emphasised the responsibility its members carry to give back to their country, using their knowledge, experience, and global exposure to contribute to Pakistan’s progress. Despite a demanding official schedule, the Secretary-General personally agreed to engage with our delegation, offering thoughtful responses to questions on some of the most pressing issues facing Pakistan and the world. For PGAN, this engagement reflects our mission of connecting Pakistani talent from around the world with global leaders and institutions, creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue at the highest levels. #PGAN #UnitedNations #AntonioGuterres #Pakistan #Diplomacy

An honour to welcome and engage with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres at a roundtable hosted by the Pakistan Global Alumni Network (PGAN) at Serena Hotel, Islamabad, on 6 October, during his final visit to Pakistan as UN Secretary-General. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to address the Secretary-General and hear his perspectives on Pakistan’s youth, its potential, and its place in the world. What made this occasion particularly meaningful was seeing a network we have worked to build bring together Pakistani talent for a direct conversation at the highest level of international diplomacy. Grateful to Asif Ullah Khan for his leadership in making this possible, and to Secretary-General Guterres for his generosity with his time and thoughtful engagement with our members. #UnitedNations #PGAN #Pakistan #Diplomacy

90 days ago we published the first episode of The Global Dialogue. Today the numbers came in and I had to read them twice. 𝟒.𝟏 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬. 𝟐𝟐,𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝. 𝟓𝟑,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬. To put that in perspective: somewhere in the world, someone presses play on our podcast every 2 seconds. A new subscriber joins every 3 minutes. And the total watch time adds up to 2.5 years of nonstop viewing, generated in just 3 months. But the number we are proudest of isn't on this graphic. It's the calibre of the conversations behind it. In 90 days we've sat down with voices from Princeton, Brookings, Oxford and beyond to unpack the questions that matter most to Pakistan. Pakistan deserves a seat in the global conversation, not just a mention in it. Grateful to @PakGlobalAlumni who make this possible every single week. And to everyone who has watched, shared and subscribed, thank you!

Can a country really weaponise a river? I sat down with Prof. Filippo Menga for The Global Dialogue to discuss the future of the Indus, the Harmon Doctrine, water weaponisation and what this crisis means for the global rules-based order. Professor Menga is one of the world’s leading scholars of hydro-politics and Editor-in-Chief of Political Geography. youtu.be/HX8s114qbGA?si=j-xD…
