I feel bad for the creators who are choosing to leave DBD. Because leaving the game you have built your following on is terrifying. I’m glad I started branching more into variety when I did because this whole thing is a shit show. And I feel it keeps getting worse and worse.

I SAY BETTER LIVES BECAUSE WE ARENT THE ONES BEING BIGOTS AND WHO HAVE HATRED IN THEIR HEARTS!!!! THATS FUCKING WHY.
STAY TRUE TO YOURSELVES ALWAYS AND FOREVER 💖💖💖

God I am absolutely so so so devastated seeing what has happened the past two days in the DBD community. I am so absolutely sorry to everybody who has been attacked by these bigots with slurs and insults. Please remember we have better lives than these fucking FREAKS.
Obviously BHVR needs to own up to their mistake but the uncomfortable truth is that employee felt comfortable saying “we can take the heat” because consumers are passive and do very little to boycott Dead by Daylight in order to protect their “comfort game”

Me and my all female crew (yes that includes female pilots) I have worked in the aviation industry for 4 years, I have worked thousands of flights and I can confidently say that I trust my female pilots with my life, we should not minimize female pilots due to an unfortunate incident that could’ve happened to any pilot
We have to talk about it and I don't mean this out of disrespect or to be funny.
Women should not be pilots at all.
They don't have the mechanical skill and awareness, it's too dangerous.
This was preventable crash.
She simply deaccelerated too fast and thats why it crashed.
RIP everyone on board praying for their families.🙏

(🥜warning....for those with a peanut allergy....)
I'm a partnered streamer myself.
I'm not as big as peanut and probably never will be but yes 1000000% I am responsible for the community I foster.
I set the tone for what is allowed in my spaces, the mindsets I condone and don't. My community and how they act in my name or spaces or in conversations about me is a direct reflection of who I am as a creator.
I have banned viewers, mods, and even close irl friends for actions I don't condone. If i see my community acting out of line I WILL say something and it will not be tolerated or they will not be in my community.
Am I responsible for their actions? no
but I am responsible for that I cultivate.
If you think anything less you are not someone who should foster a community yourself.
So peanut defenders you can tout all day how "there's only a single clip of him using a slur" or that it's just "edgy humor". but the company he keeps and his lack of diminishing the damage or speaking out about it speaks far louder than a few dozen clips of him saying slurs would. if he's not a bigot I want to see HIM say it and take action to clean his community up

"The @DeadbyDaylight community was already toxic" - okay?? But in my 8 years playing and making content for it, I didn't get a death threat until today so... (and I know others have before anyone says anything)

“Bullying devs into doing things differently”
Why is this said like these types of people don’t hound developers whenever there is a Black character in a leading role?
I am not encouraging bullying obvs but I just can’t believe how not self aware these people are..
Asmongold reacts to the Dead by Daylight developers folding under 0 pressure after promoting TheBurntPeanut
"So basically Dead by Daylight promoted TheBurntPeanut and gave him a bunch of skins and everything in the game. People got mad about it and Dead by Daylight was like, we can handle this. We don't care. It's not a big deal."
"What these people have done is collectively gotten together to chimp out over a peanut being accepted by the Dead by Daylight developers. Everybody is crying about this. It's another example of these people that get together and they collectively bully a developer by crashing out on social media for a couple of days, and they make a developer do something differently."
"So they folded under zero pressure. That's basically what happened. This is why I think that we need to be so aggressive against these people. If we're not aggressive against these people, these people will dominate the conversations and they will define the culture because they do jump out, they do crash out."
"Every single hostile, negative, psychotic comment that you guys make, as long as it's not encouraging violence, I'm pretty much in favour of. You guys need to come out and be a lot more outspoken about this, because unless you want to have every single community run by performative drag queens. What these people really care about is control and power. And they are bullies. And until they are made to stop, they will not stop."
"There is no world in which you can coexist with these people. You either have to take the culture back out of their hands that they are trying to define, or you should expect them to define every aspect of your life and culture and then tell you how you need to behave. These people are genuinely a malignant cancer into any community and any area that they touch. They get together and they bully a company like this, and then the company capitulates to them, and then it creates a feedback loop."

You know what’s funny?
This wasn’t even a good business decision lmao
You spent 10 years building a progressive community
Who do you think is buying all those feng & sable cosmetics? Your progressive community
The streamer that you guys spent an entire afternoon defending played dbd for 2 hours & is now done with the game.
so now you’re left with no new players or financial gain from his community & your actual community is now aware that you don’t actually stand by the values you claim to have
This weekend, a Dead by Daylight team member awarded in-game content and currency to a creator streaming our game. Although it is not unusual to unlock content to give creators discovering DbD a chance to have a sneak peek at available content, this decision was made without receiving appropriate approvals. Furthermore, the team member's subsequent comments and conduct do not align with Dead by Daylight’s core values.
When concerns about this decision became apparent during the stream, we should have responded by looking into these concerns, not dismissing them.
Unfortunately, we’ve now seen the fallout of this decision unfolding in many conversations across the DbD community. We appreciate and stand with our community’s willingness to ensure our shared values are being upheld, at all times, regardless of popularity, and we’re heartbroken at the inflammatory language now being directed towards our community.
At the same time, threatening employees will never be acceptable, and we’re asking everyone to stop engaging with these posts.
We apologize to our community for letting you down. We have already begun reviewing our internal processes to prevent an incident like this from happening again.

No one should be treated like shit and get insulted with slurs just bc they’re defending their safe space and community. No dev should allow this to happen to their loyal fanbase. Destroying brand loyalty, trust and image.. everything you built in those years- Was it worth it?

Seeing people argue that the community is already toxic, so the outrage is unwarranted. To those of you who think that way, I hope you can come to realize how silly this logic is... We should be okay with more toxicity because we already experience some? Get a grip.
THEY PULLED THE CARD 😭😭😭.. obviously making threats is wrong but no one is rlly doing that we're just making fun of mandy WHICH IS FAIR WE'RE LITERALLY UNDER ATTACK BY THE SLUR SLINGING BRIGADE BECAUSE OF HER.......

Haley Stevens just betrayed them by endorsing the very Republican she said she wanted to run against.

I've seen enough CCs of all sizes say they'll stop playing DBD until a proper non corpo BS response drops. Also a lot of people straight up uninstalling, Hens called them out under the original post that aired this & Otz also made a statement on his server with

This apology absolutely skirts around the points being made by us. Trying to Frame this as an internal approval issue completely sidesteps the big question, why was this particular creator being given these benefits in the first place?? what was the reason that led to the decision? Trying to say the correct approvals weren't obtained doesn't really address any of the concerns people have nor does it explain WHY those concerns were initially dismissed (YOU EVEN SAID SO IN THIS APOLOGY) Accountability means addressing the decision itself and not just the process surrounding it.
You also reference your "core values" without defining what those are or how any of this contradicts them? If these values are so important to Dead by Daylight enough to invoke an apology with that included then surely the community deserves to understand what they mean in practice! Values shouldn't just be a convenient phrase that is used to distance a company from individual conduct it should be something consistently demonstrated, which lacks in this entire situation.
Threats and harassment towards employees are completely unacceptable and nobody should be subjected to that but it's important not to conflate that behaviour with actual criticism or use it to try and overshadow the concerns being raised. The community has EVERY right to question your decisions and expect answers. You acknowledge you've let people down but offer such little transparency and accountability or meaningful reassurance about what will change in the future. The community deserve an apology that dresses the issue itself and not just the fallout.
