(5/5) @AdrianRamsay raised concerns about winter flood preparedness, while the Minister pointed to the work of the Flood and Drought Taskforce, attended by NFU Deputy President Paul Tompkins.

On Monday I chaired the APPG for Farming with Mark Weekes, a Devon farmer and Vice Chair of the NFU Livestock Board.
We discussed what bluetongue has done to our farmers, their livestock and their pockets. Defra must do more to build our resilience to diseases like it.

Great to meet Central Devon farmers at @nfutweets HQ. The government’s complete mismanagement of the SFI applications along with Blue Tongue, TB and planning reform high on the agenda. Thanks to all.

It was great to meet with growers and industry leaders to discuss the future of our fruit and veg sector at @NFUtweets.
Unlocking growth, backing British produce, and strengthening food security are shared priorities, and I look forward to working in partnership as we take forward the Horticulture Sector Growth Plan.
Earlier this week, Deputy President Paul Tompkins hosted our Great British Breakfast alongside Shadow Defra Secretary @VictoriaAtkins at Conservative Party Conference. It was great to see the support for British farming among MPs, peers, councillors and activists.
A busy few days at @UKLabour Conference where the NFU has:
🤝Met with Secretaries of State, Ministers and MPs
📢Talked all things SFI, Budget 2026 and food security
👏Hosted events with a record number of attendees
🗣️Contributed to panels and roundtables

(1/3) Yesterday, Deputy President Paul Tompkins hosted our busy Great British Breakfast event alongside Efra Chair @amcarmichaelMP at the Liberal Democrats' Conference. It was fantastic to see so many MPs, councillors and delegates, and to celebrate our fantastic British farmers.

🇬🇧🚜 Proper start to #BackBritishFarmingDay at the @NFUPolitical breakfast in Parliament with the Shadow Defra team and @Conservatives colleagues.
It was particularly lovely to catch up with Jane from the @nfumidlands team, representing our corner of Lincolnshire and hear directly about the NFU’s new Ready to Grow report.

Great to address the @NFUtweets on Back British Farming Day. A tough year, but our farmers keep showing up and we've got their backs: £225m in grants for farm improvements and sustainable farming funding for 6,500+ more small farms - with more to come later this month🌾

🚨 〓〓 Proud to #BackBritishFarming today - a reminder that our farmers really are the backbone of our economy, and our way of life!
Buying British, and supporting your local farmer, is supporting food security and making sure their way of life can continue for generations.
