Today marks exactly 10 years since Hacker T. Dog delivered the greatest unscripted line in British television history.

Dana Carvey watched Withnail and I while prepping Wayne’s World 2, got fixated on Ralph Brown’s spaced-out Danny, and wrote him into the movie.
They treated it like a spiritual reprise, recreating the flat from Withnail, right down to the wallpaper.

Best anecdote in Carol Thatcher's book about her father is when Sir Denis boarded a train at Paddington in which the only empty compartment was reserved for Rosewood Psychiatric Hospital.
Denis travelled alone and in comfort as far as Reading when "all these chaps piled in", accompanied by a male nurse, who counted them before the train moved off.
'One, two, three, four ... who are you?"
"I'm the Prime Minister's husband."
"Six, seven, eight, nine..."

An oldie but a goodie. In 1968 a bunch of entitled hippy bastards sent a letter detailing their specious demands to the Warden and Fellows of Wadham College, Oxford. This was their letter of reply, which speaks to how far the academy has since fallen.

Talking with my stepdad and son yesterday we hit upon coffee syrups and arrived eventually at Camp Coffee.
Recalling the problematic label we were surprised to see it still existed, and liked the changes.

With the late, great Oliver Reed currently wowing 2026 audiences all over again with his incredible performance in the restored version of Ken Russell’s ‘The Devils’, I wanted to share this amazing clip of him from 1985.
The rather low-res clip comes from ‘In at the Deep End’, a BBC series in which presenter Paul Heiney tries his hands at a profession he had zero experience in. For this episode, Heiney was preparing for an acting role opposite Michael Caine in ‘Water’ and went to Oliver Reed for some pointers on how to play a villain.
Please enjoy what happens next.

Alexei Sayle's Stuff (20th October 1988). "Well, we apologise for the absence of Alexei Sayle in this week's edition of Alexei Sayle's Stuff. We're attempting to right the problem, but in the meantime the programme will continue in Leslie Crowther only".

On this day in 1893, Lillian Gish was born in Springfield, OH. I asked her if actors in silent films had a script with dialogue to memorize or if they were just given a general idea of what was being said in the scene and they ad-libbed the words. This was her remarkable reply:

Nothing good can come of this. AI can now generate video in real-time. Explainer below.
It just feels like this will only be put to bad uses...

I often worked with Roger Moore, and what a lovely man he was.
When I asked his permission to use a clip of us from The Persuaders in my one-woman show he said "credit me as a good kisser, as that would do my street-cred a lot of good!"
For the record - he was a GREAT kisser!💋

Last night I finally sent my new book to my publisher.
When I started it I realised I was forgettng how to love writing. I was experiencing privilege as hassle. I made a list of all the things to make it fun again. Worked for me. I bloody love writing this book.

#neverforget the time the actor playing the creepy Nazi in RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK was missing for this shot, so they just balanced a fuckin BLACK HAT on the seat and hoped nobody would notice. #moviemagic

Lovely Obituary for Richard O'Sullivan by Mark Lawson, written with great warmth. Richard's last screen role was 1996, when he was 52. But he'd been acting literally non stop since he 7 years old! I feel sad tonight. Another part of my childhood has died
