The really funny thing, in a tragic comedy sort of way, is that due to inflation gas at $5.50 a gallon today is still cheaper than it was almost the entirety of the Obama Administration.
America trooned out because gas prices went up by $1

My great-grandfather ran from Mao's communism. The people who dragged him out and beat him were high school and college kids in the Red Guard. We're watching young people radicalize again, and it starts in the schools. My take on The Nation Decides 2026 with @NTDNews

As someone who works professionally in AI, let me just say a few things: 1) I, much moreso than most everyone else, am hyperaware of just how dangerous these models can be. In fact, I'm giving a presentation on exactly that to a federal entity in a few weeks. 2) I have a 40+ year career in cybersecurity, doing such since long before there was such a term. Hell, I was doing it before firewalls existed. 3) As much as I loathe and despise the frontier model companies (so much so, my family has several pending individual -- not class-action -- lawsuits against a few of them), I recognize this as an international arms race. As such, "punishing" tech firms, particularly AI firms, is so shortsighted as to be suicidal. I can tell you with certitude that human defenders absolutely cannot keep pace with this new era of AI-assisted, or full AI exploitation of assets. If we pause AI development in this country, it's a crapshoot which will destroy this country first, a hostile foreign power, or the foreigners who're busy destroying this country from within.
ABSOLUTE BLOODBATH IN THE MARKET. Over $2 trillion has been wiped out from US stocks in just 50 minutes after the open. This is the fastest wipeouts in US stock market history. The S&P 500 is down 2.7% and has now erased all of its gains since the midterm results. Most of the selling is in tech stocks: • Nvidia: -7%, -$300 billion • Tesla: -9%, -$140 billion • AMD: -12.5%, -$100 billion • Micron: -10%, -$95 billion • Broadcom: -5.5%, -$90 billion Health care, consumer staples and energy stocks are up today. Did Democrats just kill the AI trade?

My favorite parts of Blue Texas as a worshipper of Satan who hates Americans: 1. Data center moratorium. We stopped building (and often even repairing) refineries. It was easy to think we would never build things again. Then it turned out you could make buildings for computers to sit in and bring in untold billions. Ha. Turns out we can't build that either. 2. School Choice. If a rich kid is in a bad school district, they can pay money to go private or move. Without vouchers, taxpayers will have their property taxes go to bad schools, and smart poor kids will be stuck there. 3. ICE cooperation. When an illegal immigrant rapist is convicted in Texas, the courts work with ICE to remove them from the country. Texas doesn't rely on chaotic ICE raids, and you can read about all the rapists and murderers Texas deported. No more of that. My chaotic fellow worshippers will stay in America. If we're lucky, maybe a leftist protestor or two will get shot in the chaos. 4. Oil and gas. There's something delicious about Americans voting blue for gas prices and then letting Dems run Texas. Haha. Get fucked, idiots. 5. Elon Musk. As a worshiper of Satan, I couldn't stand this guy. Self driving cars, reusable rockets, satellite constellations, US manufacturing. Ugh. He brought so much activity to Texas, and now we can finally do our best to put an end to that. Thanks for voting, everyone. Republicans may be retarded, but with the Democrats, you get an evil party who hates you and celebrates trans children. Hail Satan.

Interesting thread. It might be worth adapting/adopting more strategic approaches to lift some veils.
What actually gets a committed liberal to reconsider a view? I tested 14 honest persuasion approaches, no tricks or spin, on 1,000 AI-simulated liberals across about 3,000 conversations. One approach clearly beat the rest. Two backfired almost every time.

It is alarming to see how much anti-AI sentiment is gaining traction, and deeply regrettable, too. With this technology, we have the potential to change everything for the better, forever. Yet, in the comments sections here, I find myself debating the most trivial matters, as if the majority still fails to grasp the immense power and possibilities that AI brings.
This is incredibly bad news. Abdul El-Sayed wants to pause AI, while at the same time, almost every AI data center is being blocked by local communities. Folks fail to realize just how transformative AI is for humanity. It’s a shame.

This is short-sighted, foolish, and uninformed. Stifling our progress while letting adversaries like China continue unimpeded would be disastrous for the United States and the free world.
Top of the Democratic agenda on day 1 needs to be a pause on advanced AI development, regulation of this out of control industry, and a ban on artificial superintelligence.

Your response to yesterday’s losses should be to organize and put in the work locally. Look, the populists on the right keep renting power while the left builds its own. The American left knows how to build a bunch of enthusiasm, raise a lot of money, and turn local organizing into something really permanent. Sure, the populist right has millions of supporters and wealthy backers, but too much of its political machinery belongs to donors and institutions with their own often contrary agendas. So, when elections end, the people on the right scatter, the contacts go cold, and all of that hard-won experience rarely trickles down to the local level. The result is most of what survives still belongs to someone else. A few years later, the populists on the right have to start it all over from scratch while your opponents are hitting the ground running. Think of one athlete who’s not training all off season while the other team has been training hard all year. You’re the team that’s on the couch and you’re playing against a trim, fit, prepared opponent. If you want to get something done, get started in your own city or county. Introduce yourself and talk to people. Find out who has influence and what people actually want fixed. Pick an issue worth working on, get a few dependable people together, and get to work. Start learn how your opponents are organized, too. That’s important. Understand the local alliances that keep them together. Show up, make your case, and challenge their influence in local institutions. Then keep at it after the campaign signs come down. Bring in new people and pass on what you’ve learned. Build something that can keep going. The left has been doing this for decades. Elections come and go. But the real test is who still controls an organization that can get things done after they’re over.

I've always liked you, Matt, but as a Korean, in a country where China's influence runs deep, I find this point very disturbing. “Pointless war"? Follow the oil. China buys more than 80% of Iran's shipped oil. That's 1.38 million barrels a day in 2025, per Kpler. Nearly every barrel Tehran sells under sanctions goes to Beijing. Add Venezuela. More than half of its oil exports went to China too. Together, Iran and Venezuela supplied about 15-17% of China's crude imports. Much of it was cheap, sanctioned oil, relabeled "Malaysian" to hide where it came from. Now Greenland. China controls about 60% of the world's rare earth mining and over 90% of the processing. Those minerals go into missiles, fighter jets, EVs and chips. Greenland sits on the Arctic shipping routes Beijing calls the "Polar Silk Road." So what connects Iran, Venezuela and Greenland? They're three pillars of China's cheap energy and supply chain. Cut them and you raise the cost of Beijing's military buildup without firing a shot at China. That is America First. China is the only rival big enough to replace the U.S. Letting it fuel up on discount oil from America's enemies is not "restraint." It's surrender on the installment plan. Gas prices hurt. I get it. But if Beijing runs the world's energy and minerals, groceries won't be the worst thing you can't afford. Think one move ahead.
Trump launched an unpopular and pointless war. Gas prices are too high. People can’t afford groceries. Trump abandoned the American First message. This is why Republicans are getting crushed. It’s very simple.

Bless your heart.
Over the last two years, Senate Republicans have put up a strong record of accomplishment that’s created safer streets, more money in Americans’ pockets, and new opportunities for families and businesses to get ahead. After fighting Democrat obstruction at every turn, we prevented the largest tax hike in American history, secured our border in an unprecedented way, confirmed the president’s Cabinet at the fastest pace in two decades, and put strong conservative judges on benches across the country faster than we have since the Reagan administration. I’m proud of our team and everything we’ve done for the American people, and I’m looking forward to the important work we have in front of us over the next few months. As we head into 2027, Senate Republicans will not stand idly by as the far-left, socialist wing of the Democrat Party attempts to unwind everything we’ve done. Thankfully, we still have President Trump in the White House, and we’ll work with him to stop the worst impulses of Democrat extremism. We cannot let their fringe positions become the mainstream.

Well this sucks. I’m going to rant for a few moments and then move on in a positive way. My three unvarnished thoughts on tonight: 1. Any MAGA voter who sat this out to "prove a point" to the eGOP who now lives under Democrat rule deserves what they are about to experience. 2. Trump knew Iran could cost the midterms. But he did it anyway. Because he knows that the Iranian mullahs are theocratic madmen who are trying to build nuclear weapons so they can use them on the USA and Israel, precipitating Armageddon so the Hidden Imam will arise from a well in Qom and force what’s left of humanity to convert to Shia Islam. So Trump had to choose. Win the midterms or save humanity? He chose wisely. Historians will eventually acknowledge this reality. 3. The PRIMARIES are where you make RINOs pay, not the general. Geez. So THAT’S all over and it’s on to 2028 to save America. Let’s put this behind us, pull together as patriotic conservative Americans, squash the squabbling, infighting and name calling, and get back to where we need to be. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? No. No it was not. Onward to 2028…. (I’m dropping the name of my preferred presidential candidate in the morning.)

🚨 Inside the Largest Government Funded Human Trafficking Ring in History: Your tax dollars trafficked over 300,000 children across the United States while NGOs enriched themselves with millions of dollars. One NGO received $895 million to traffic children across the US. Others got $100+ million, and NGOs in areas like Tucson, Arizona pocketed millions but now receive nothing since the border shut down. In this video we break down the contracts, speak with former Border Patrol, and confront the NGOs. It’s a must watch, like it and share it. Make sure no one forgets the hundreds of children lost in the government’s hands.
