The U.S. House of Representatives passed bi-partisan legislation on Tuesday that would require automakers to provide access to AM broadcast radio as standard equipment in new vehicles at no additional cost to consumers.
The bill, which includes @RepJoshG and @FrankPallone as co-sponsors, directs the U.S. Department of Transportation to issue a rule requiring automakers to include devices capable of receiving AM broadcast stations in new passenger vehicles as standard equipment without a separate or additional charge.
Tri-state residents like myself have long depended on @wcbs880, one of the two all-news stations on the local AM dial. But what will happen going forward, as car companies say they'll discontinue AM on new models? Via Jim Beckerman, featuring quotes from @peterhaskell880, @WayneCabot and @paulmurn.

BREAKING news out of PA - per the FBI, Jonathan Hunter Kramer used social media to spread ISIS and Hamas propaganda, offer explosives manuals and discuss terrorist attacks involving arson, car rammings, explosive drones, shootings and poisoning food served at synagogues.
Agents recovered a semiautomatic rifle, 190 rounds of ammunition and five 30-round magazines.
This is another example of how online radicalization can quickly become real-world terrorism.
Thankfully, the FBI stopped him before innocent lives were lost.

The disgusting call for Chinese-Americans to be incarcerated simply because of their ethnicity is dangerous, xenophobic and racist.
Anti-Asian hate has no place in our country.
These extremists must cease and desist immediately.

Comments that blame American Jews for threats against them are incredibly harmful and dangerous.
There is no place for violence in this country. As leaders we must stand up to hate and antisemitism wherever we see it.

The malicious claim that American Jews are inviting violence against themselves is dangerous and antisemitic.
There is zero justification for threats against the safety of our Jewish brothers and sisters at a moment of rising hate.
We will fight the cancer of antisemitism with the fierce urgency of now.

Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a moderate Democrat from New Jersey, went further: "Dan Bilzerian is running for Congress on a Nazi platform. That's not hyperbole. His own campaign ad celebrates Hitler, draws horns on Jews, and calls a sitting Jewish Member of Congress a problem to be solved."
"I don't agree with Randy Fine on much, but that's exactly the point. When someone runs for the United States Congress on Jew-hatred, every one of us, Democrat and Republican, has an obligation to say so out loud."
