Feel free to share for Human/Forerunner debate
For any 343 shills that try to gatekeep the lore because it doesn’t work with 343’s or simply don’t believe it exists, I want you to take a peek at this information before checking the videos and pic below.
The following was all released in 2007, the same year Halo 3 (script looked over by Joe Staten the lead writer) concluded and Joseph Staten’s book Contact Harvest released.
The video is from Bungie’s official Halo CE Directors Commentary featuring Joseph Staten, Jason Jones and Marty O’Donnel.
Listen to Sparks dialogue and what they had to say about it.
In the next we have Truth and Sparks quotes from the end of Halo 3.
Now I want you to link these keywords “left behind” to the last image.
A page straight out of Joseph Staten’s book Contact Harvest which contains a plot point that’s very important to the Human/Covenant war itself.
A plot point that not only shows up in the games but is continued for the book Contact Harvest.
The book contains so much lore that you could very much say it’s just as important, if not moreso than Halo: The Fall of Reach.
Even 343 has used the contents for Halo 2A’s terminals since it has the complete lore for about every species of the Covenant AND more.
I’ll be sure to attach Regret’s quote from Halo 2 below the post in case you believe that games out of the picture (storyboards unrelated because I’m using content from in game to provide further evidence despite it being that obvious).
Above all, the following information makes Halo’s story even better considering the fact that the Covenant has essentially been killing their own gods while the Prophets were aware.
And it’s far from cliche, in fact making Chief lucky due to the Librarian’s geneseed (Destiny essentially) and making alien forerunners hate humans for being human is far more cliche.
The only portion of media I can virtually think of that involves humans being direct descendants of an ancient alien world, movement, etcetra is Stargate.
And I’ve seen alot of movies and played a ton of games from all of the main gaming platforms.
And honestly, if you simply agree the lore exists and say you comprehend it but appreciate 343’s more, then there would be far less debates and arguments than there should be.
We don’t agree with the new lore because despite humanity being revealed as Forerunners, the mystery still remained.
And then pandoras box was opened with 4 and has been remained so ever since.
Before 4 we knew nothing about their society, how it worked, who the leaders were, yadayadayada.
Sometimes things are just better left in the dark.
That being said, I’d even agree with everything being kept a secret to ensure mystery like Marcus Lehto wished for.
But like I said, the lore just further improves the Covenant war and story that much more.
Please keep this in mind and think about that.

The next Halo game if Asha didn't fire 343
I quit my 11-year corporate career to make games with AI. I built the world’s first AAA-quality sci-fi FPS game with AI in 24h. On my laptop. While traveling.
A giant company in the game industry contacted me after my last AI game went viral with 3M+ Views. They want to feature a game i make with AI in their million-dollar booth at Gamescom and help me release it worldwide across platforms.
So here I present my own original IP: SOL: The Last Imperium.
→ Fast first-person combat with epic guns, grenades, and melee
→ Drive, fly, and fight across massive battlefields
→ Giant boss battles against walkers, titans, and a Leviathan
Graphics, gameplay, concept art, music, sound effects and animation. All made with AI, entirely vibe coded. Built on Three.js.
This would not have been possible without @tripoai. I create world class 3D models of characters, vehicles and monuments in Tripo, then let Opus 5.5 jam with Blender to bring AAA-quality to the 3D models. Absolute game changer.
Now it feels like I have an entire $100M game studio on my laptop.
The future is here. Go after your dreams and start creating, now is the time!
Dropping some AI game dev sauce in the comments!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The "world’s first AAA-quality sci-fi FPS game with AI in 24h" refers to a rapid AI-assisted browser prototype on Three.js via tools like Tesana, not actual AAA production. No evidence supports the giant company/Gamescom claims.

Why Halo 3's story is terrible according to 343 shills:
"To war!"
"I need the Arbiter's already resolved journey jingling in my face like keys"
"It's all hype moments and aura!"
Rarely do they give valid, non-overblown criticisms, and even then it's still a damn good story.
I lick the boots of a part of a piece of a company that has been far gone since 2011 and support and respect the devs of a franchise that made the Xbox brand successful in the first place due to how good their games were?
Yet here most of you 343 shills are licking the boots of Microsoft and claiming the older games weren’t as successful as they once were and were actually bad to an extent and we only like it because of nostalgia!
I have played a good variety of FPS franchises.
I’m talkin’ Half-Life, Prey (06), F.E.A.R., Killzone, Resistance, Dusk, Doom, Quake, Cyberpunk 2077, Timesplitters, Titanfall, COD, Battlefield and many many many more and NONE of them amount to the versatile nature of Halo’s unique sandbox and combat.
To say it’s nostalgia alone is absolute insanity and it begs the question whether you have actually played a good variety of games in your lifetime or not.
Because I think I know damn well about what I’m on about lol.
Not to mention the fact that I mostly grew up with PlayStation, not Microsoft.
So even without the nostalgic eyes of someone that played Halo 3 in 07 I’m quite frankly aware that it is not blind nostalgia.
It’s nostalgia for a game franchise that defined the FPS genre for console gaming for controls, mechanics and gameplay.
Fans of 343’s games have a blind nostalgia for titles that replicate the ideas of call of duty and Titanfall and more to turn it into a mediocre mess.
These sequels never reached the height of Bungie’s popularity no matter how Microsoft tried to push it with the loss of Bungie.
To this day, they still haven’t received another Halo as successful as Bungie’s.
And if you don’t have half a brain, it is quite easy to tell why.

Spoiler warning!
Halo: Parasite's Wake with context:
teapawt.org/RetronicGamer/status/2…
For my review of Parasites Wake, I’m gonna start with the pro’s.
@Rythayze did an absolutely excellent job on the artwork as always.
Throughout the book there’s mentions of cut content from Combat Evolved that rightfully should’ve been in the “Devolved” Remake.
Such as wildlife like Blindwolves and Thorn Beasts, and the diamond energy shield wielding elite’s.
Marvin Mobuto is a decent character and his death at the end is rather tragic.
And there are some decent concepts that could’ve been written a bit better.
Sadly, those are all the pro’s I could mention.
The cons are widespread and downright baffling.
You are lead to believe the Marvin Mobuto is the main character of the book.
However it is a 16 year old boy named Charlie that was smuggled onto the Pillar of Autumn by a field medic and handed off by his mother to prisoners from the Autumn’s never before mentioned brig that just so happened to be in a singular escape pod.
Marvin ends up coming across this group and leading them through less than half of the story until Spark ships him alone to The Library where he inevitably dies.
And while some of the Prisoners are interesting as characters, their plotlines fall short and are fairly mediocre.
With the plotline of Halo CE, you expect them all to die including Charlie.
And of course, this does happen.
Charlie is a rather interesting case though and I’ll get back to that soon.
Anyways, there are litters of lore references shoved in here.
Many of them retconning Bungie’s renowned Halo Combat Evolved that everyone knows and loves.
But many of which simply feel like jingling keys for 343 shills that view Halo as a book series with some additional games on the side.
Many of these references will not be understood to a first time reader of Halo novels unless you have read a variety of others such as Greg Bears retconned Forerunner trilogy, Halo Evolutions The Mona Lisa, and Halo Waypoint Chronicles.
Even the Halo CE Terminals are referenced here.
I was rather skeptical about Sparks addition in the story of course.
And in typical 343i fashion, Sparks identity is absolutely disgraced.
Spark is retconned once again to be a lonely human-in-a-shell lunatic and is purposefully claimed to be unreliable or untrustworthy in writing through the characters to purposely tick off Halo fans.
The only reason Spark takes Marvin to the library is because he has a gesh, aka genetic bullshit rather than the simplicity of just being human.
There’s also an Elite thrown in the story that ends up befriending the group out of sheer chance.
The Elite is part of an underground lowkey group in the Covenant called the Truthseekers that remain skeptical about the Great Journey and the human/covenant war.
After Mobuto dips, he pretty much leads the group from there despite being a prisoner that they hardly trust.
Eventually they make it to a mausoleum, and this section has to be the biggest offense of all the retcons in the story.
They basically threw in the cut Halo 2 storyboards where the Arbiter/Dervish discovers a coffin with a human skeleton aka Forerunner inside.
But instead of it being a human like it should be, it’s just a retconned 343 era forerunner.
They attempt to justify it by claiming it LOOKS human, therefore humans and forerunners must be genetically related.
Regardless it’s still a massive middle finger towards any Halo fan that still respects Bungies games and lore.
The Elite has a marine record it all through a helmet cam, that way he could pass the data over to the Prophets to end the war with the evidence.
Later on after the Autumn is minutes to detonation, the remainder of the group makes it to an area with a teleporter.
They end up getting overwhelmed by the flood and the same marine gives the helmet over to the Elite.
The marine and Charlie’s mom stay behind while The Elite and Charlie escape to the furthest part of the ring.
The ring explodes, however-
The fragment of that part of the ring breaks off and instead of that section(cont):

There really aren't words for the constant retcons.
More asterisks applied to Halo 1's story, rewritten Halo 2 storyboards, more human 343 GS, and an Elite that defects to the UNSC.
The only thing more confusing than this messy story are the fans who insist it is good.

I was actually kind of interested in this novel because of Rythaze's art and the idea of a self-contained war-horror story set during a Bungie-era game—presumably sheltering it from the usual 343i/HS narrative buggery. But alas, it's worse than the usual; it's overtly malicious.

….becoming uninhabitable like it should be, they both end up surviving for THREE DAYS after the Pillar of Autumns detonation.
A non-UNSC dropship ends up conveniently picking both Charlie and the Elite up, and they get thrown in a cell where a guard takes the chip with the Elite’s recordings and it gets smashed beneath his boot.
It’s then revealed that they were both taken to The Mona Lisa, and the whole reason we had a friendly Elite was to forge a backstory for Henry the Elite from The Mona Lisa Evolutions story.
But that’s it, Charlie’s fate isn’t revealed and there was absolutely no point in having him shoehorned in.
The story is a confusing mess and is simply meant to rob Halo fans of their money in an attempt to nostalgia bait them into reading this.
The only people that may come to enjoy this are the minority of 343 shills that still remain to disrespect the franchise to this day.
For any fans that care, it’s best to save your money for things that are much more worthwhile.
Because this story is a waste of your money and time.
Why should split-screen co-op for Halo, let alone any game in general, be a debate??
This should be the standard for a good majority of games.
Why would we lower them?
Sure, why the fuck not. In the meantime here's Frank O'Retcon acknowledging H4's CoD comparisons. When devs acknowledge comparisons to other games, then they've lost the plot of what made the original so unique in the first place
