As building safety case assessments uncover further structural defects in more and more buildings, the list will continue to grow. @andyburnham What happens when that growth becomes exponential?
Two more Canning Town blocks with ‘serious structural issues’ evacuated, taking total to five in a week dlvr.it/TW90Vf #ukhousing

🔺As we approach the first anniversary of Henry Nowak’s death, his family speak out about police failures and their continuing fight for answers. Speaking in a ITV Tonight documentary tonight, the family state: - Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary initially suggested Henry had been the aggressor, rather than his killer, Vickrum Digwa. - They were told officers had immediately administered first aid, before police later acknowledged Henry had instead been handcuffed and arrested. - The police watchdog, the IOPC, told them in April that there were “no concerns identified” regarding officers’ actions that night. - They only saw the disturbing police bodycam footage of Henry’s arrest on the first day of Digwa’s trial. Henry’s stepmother, Katie Nowak:“I do feel that we have been failed multiple times.” Has anything changed at all since the Trial verdict?

Late call to London 🥱 But it’s got to be done. I’m glad to have been asked to speak — not just for my son and the other victims of the Nottingham attacks, but to share our experience of the @policeconduct with families like the Nowaks and the wider public. I’m horrified they’re still rolling out Derrick Campbell as a spokesperson. I’ve been reading their ‘media offensive’ on the train. Formal complaints have been made about his conduct and communication, and he was removed from post into a different role. Yet still they use him. Utterly arrogant and absurd and pretty much sums them up… It’s time the light was properly shone on their murky world of cover-up, deflection and evasion. Live on @GMB tomorrow. Speaking the truth. Candour, transparency, nothing to hide.

Pretty grim stuff from an estate in South London where a housing association sold the homes to a property management company which is now attempting to push through evictions and convert the houses to HMOs

Following the resignation of Poland’s Ambassador to China, Poland’s Ambassador to Romania has also resigned in protest against the Tusk government’s unlawful attempt to take over the Constitutional Tribunal. Such actions by senior Polish diplomats serving in capitals of strategic importance to international security send a powerful signal to the international community. This is particularly significant at a time when many Polish diplomatic missions are headed by chargés d’affaires, following Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski’s decision to recall more than 50 ambassadors without the President’s consent. The significance of these resignations cannot and must not be ignored.
W związku z faktem próby sprzecznego z prawem przejęcia TK nie widzę możliwości dalszego pełnienia funkcji Ambasadora RP w Rumunii. O mojej rezygnacji poinformowałem @prezydentpl i @sikorskiradek

Replying to @EliAfriatISR @grok
Grok's explanation is bad. Basically, Donald Tusk, the pro-EU Prime Minister, is accused of carrying out a coup after riot police were deployed outside Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal and its president, Bogdan Święczkowski, was suspended. Tusk wants Poland to become like France and Spain, open borders and let Muslim immigrants flood the country

Okay kiddo, here's the simple version. Poland has a special team of grown-ups called the Constitutional Tribunal. Their job is to check if the country's big rules are being followed. Yesterday the leader of that team got put on a time-out by other judges who work with the current government. Some people got upset, stood outside the building, and police came to keep things calm. The president even turned his plane around and flew home early because of the argument. It's basically two big groups of adults fighting over who gets to be in charge of the rule-checkers. That's what's happening right now.

You can cancel an election and ban the winner from running (Romania), you can ban your opponents from ever running again (Hungary), you can threaten to ban the main opposition party and subject it to relentless investigations by the secret police (Germany), you can threaten a ban on the leading presidential candidate and make them wear an ankle monitor (France), every member of your circle can be investigated for corruption (Spain), you can try and cancel local elections because you will lose them (Britain), and you can storm the constitutional court with riot police because you want to control it (Poland). You can just do all these things. The secret is you just have to be on the right side of the European Commission.

Oświadczenie Prezydenta Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej Karola Nawrockiego Tej nocy doszło do naruszenia porządku konstytucyjnego RP i siłowego przejęcia konstytucyjnego organu państwa. Do Trybunału Konstytucyjnego umożliwiłem wejście legalnie urzędującego wiceprezesa Trybunału Konstytucyjnego sędziego Bartłomieja Sochańskiego.  W związku z zagrożeniem bezpieczeństwa wewnętrznego Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej na dziś zwołuję pilne konsultacje z udziałem przedstawicieli sił parlamentarnych w celu doprowadzenia do stabilizacji sytuacji politycznej i przywrócenia porządku konstytucyjnego.

Two days after Henry died Hampshire Police secretly recorded Digwa in a police van speaking Punjabi to his brother. Digwa admitted stabbing Henry. Discussed claiming self defence. Made zero mention of racial abuse. Not one word. Hampshire Police had that tape. They knew Digwa was lying about the racist attack. They had the evidence. They had his own words and then tried to smear Henry as the aggressor anyway. Three days after his death their statement read “it was reported two men had been assaulted by an unknown man.” Henry was the unknown man. The boy bleeding out on the street. They flipped it. Family complained. Statement changed. Then police told the family their NEXT update would again infer Henry was the initial aggressor. His family had to fight them a second time. While grieving their murdered son. Then during the trial Hampshire tried to issue a statement telling the public to stop talking about it online. Calling it disinformation. The CPS had to step in. Told them they were about to collapse their own murder case. This is the force that handcuffed a dying boy. Missed the murder weapon twice. Had a secret tape proving the killer lied. And still tried to bury Henry's name. That's not incompetence. That's a machine protecting itself. At the expense of a dead boy's reputation and three officers are still on active duty. Not suspended. Treated as witnesses. To their own actions. Hampshire Police didn't just fail Henry on that street. They kept failing him for six months after he died.

I can’t find this video from @D_Tarczynski on his @X feed so repost this for his perspective and background on events in #Poland 🇵🇱
Polish MEP Dominik Tarczyński is explaining what is happening right now at Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal, calling it nothing less than a COUP D’ÉTAT! “In Poland, we have a liberal-left government led by Donald Tusk, who is the Prime Minister. What is happening right now with the Constitutional Tribunal is that they want to take it over and fill it with their own people. Why? Because they want to get rid of the Polish currency, bring us into the eurozone, and eliminate our secure borders. They are being pushed by the Germans, who want to spread the burden of illegal migration and send migrants to Poland. First of all, the Polish złoty is our constitutionally protected currency. They have to change the Constitution to replace it, and without the Constitutional Tribunal, they cannot do that. So, number one, they want to get rid of our currency and force us to adopt the euro and join the eurozone. Then they want to take our gold reserves, the largest in the European Union, to Frankfurt, to the European Central Bank, which is a German-based institution. They also want to open our borders. And they want to make sure that when they lose the next elections, which are coming next year, the Constitutional Tribunal will be unable to do anything to stop their actions or reverse what they have done. There are many more reasons, but I want you to understand one thing: they are under German influence. They are globalists, and we are fighting not just for Poland, but for Europe. Be like Poland. Be strong. Our nation is strong, and we are going to win this fight!”

Nastąpiło bezprawne przejęcie strony internetowej Trybunału Konstytucyjnego. Prezesem @TK_GOV_PL jest nadal Bogdan Święczkowski, a Wiceprezesem Bartłomiej Sochański. Pani Anna Korwin-Piotrowska nie jest sędzią Trybunału Konstytucyjnego. Wszystkie osoby uczestniczące w niniejszych działaniach popełniają przestępstwo zamachu stanu.

Delicious details ⬇️
Rupert Lowe was a Brexit Party MEP for the West Midlands. But he withdrew as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the marginal Dudley seat in November 2019, the day of the nomination deadline. Why? Rupert had been dead keen on sitting in Parliament, and by all accounts he stood a fairly decent chance. But something weird happened in the weeks running up to that bizarre decision to withdraw on deadline day itself, which meant no alternate candidate could be submitted. He threw the race. In football terms, it was match fixing. But what possessed him, and does that same thing possess him now? In the run-up to that decision, a man by the name of Dougie Smith had been in touch with Lowe. It’s not known how long for. But the communication intensified in that period. Smith — who likes to be called “the wolf” and is known in the media as “Dr. No” because they’re afraid of naming him — has been a long time dark arts fixer for the Tory party. He ran Boris Johnson. He worked for Cameron. He ran Sunak. And he’s now in charge of Kemi Badenoch and Kevin Hollinrake. In fact, Dougie even introduced Kemi to her husband Hamish, in a little-known fact they’ve tried to keep quiet. And with good reason: Smith is a long-time sex party organizer. Just ask Michael Gove. Smith ran orgies for high-profile people, including many politicians, in the 90s and 2000s. So there’s lots of kompromat. But back to Lowe. Remember, this was 2019. It would be at least 5 more years until the big Farage fallout that caused Restore Britain to arrive on the scene and do precisely what Rupert claimed he didn’t want to do in that Dudley election: “split the vote.” At the time, in 2019, Farage called what Lowe did “disgusting behaviour” and said it was a double-cross of then Brexit Party leader Richard Tice. Lowe is believed to have met a senior Tory official that week, and his withdrawal had been arranged with the Conservatives. This episode sat within a wider set of claims by Farage about Conservative efforts to clear the field in key seats. Apparently, Rupert wasn’t the only target of this op. But he appears to have been the longest-running asset of Dougie Smith. You would recognise other names, too. But that’s for another time. Farage called out Dougie Smith as one of the figures involved in approaches to Brexit Party candidates that mixed inducements (the offer of peerages, jobs, and even a suggested knighthood) with pressure and intimidation. The latter being Smith’s forte. One account, reproduced in screenshots shared online, asserts that Lowe met Smith privately at a DoubleTree Hilton in London at 4:30 p.m. on 14 November and that the two men collaborated on a “Men and Measures” list mapping out Tory safe seats, peerages, or other positions for Brexit Party figures willing to stand down in favour of the Conservatives. This is precisely what Restore Britain has now been doing at a council level around the country. Men and Measures 2.0. And it makes even more sense when you consider the Dougie Smith-era Tories who are now working inside Restore Britain. Men like Scott Benton, who was also elected for the Tories in 2019. To this day, the Men and Measures playbook is being run. Where Tories stand to win at a council level, Restore Britain activists are pulled back, and candidates often not stood at all. If Reform are standing to win where the Tories can, Restore Britain floods the zone as hard as it can. Now these could all just be a massive series of coincidences. But add to it Lowe’s own words about the Tory party, and how he repeatedly refuses to say anything negative about Kemi Badenoch, despite most of his base blasting her as an “anchor baby.” “I could join the Tories tomorrow if I wanted to,” he told Newsnight in early 2025. “I don’t have an issue with the Tories.” That’s true. He doesn’t have an issue with the Tories. Because they control him. He’s the man. They’ve got the measures. And Dougie Smith is pulling the puppet strings.

THE HOME OFFICE ACKNOWLEDGES ITS TALLA ROLE - THEN CLOSES THE CORRESPONDENCE On 16 October 2026, the Home Office (@ukhomeoffice) confirmed in writing that its engagement with the National Police Chiefs' Council-associated (@PoliceChiefs) Operation Talla concerned: “policy alignment, information sharing and strategic coordination” That is an acknowledgement of involvement in the national pandemic policing response. It raises questions which the phrase “operational independence” cannot answer by itself. • Which policies were being aligned? • What information was shared? • Who participated in strategic coordination? • What records show where governmental involvement ended and independent policing judgment began? The Department says it is unaware of itself providing, requesting or encouraging a policy of rejecting or not recording Covid-related criminal reports. It also says its engagement should not be understood as directing decisions about particular allegations. Those qualifications matter - as does the distinction between directing an individual case and influencing the national framework within which cases are handled. My correspondence asked about both the Home Office and so far as it knew, wider Government involvement. Its answer addressed its own position without resolving the wider question. The Department then announced that it would no longer answer correspondence on the issue. It characterised further consideration as repetition, whilst acknowledging that it had no record of receiving an earlier letter containing material central to the questions raised. That warrants scrutiny. Acknowledged engagement creates a legitimate need to understand its scope. Ending correspondence leaves that requirement unanswered. • Policy alignment requires an account of the policies. • Information sharing requires an account of the exchanges. • Strategic coordination requires an account of responsibility. The correspondence establishes acknowledged involvement and a decision to end this avenue of questioning before the outstanding issues were resolved. The public is entitled to ask whether that is an adequate response to questions about the independence of its police. Rest assured - We will get to the bottom of exactly what has taken place. Read the full correspondence and assess the answers: ethicalapproach.co.uk/corres…

The scale of concrete slab issues and other serious structural defects is yet to come to light. The 18m+ blocks at our site failed their BACs over structural issues and fire safety concerns. If they’re affected, those of us in mid-rise blocks may well be facing the same issues.
