Supporting Ukraine as a socialist is wrong because the country and its people are being used to wage a NATO war against Russia. But besides that there's the obvious hatred for all things Soviet, Lenin, communist etc. in the pro-Ukrainian camp, even it's "left-wing".

Yes, russian language is very much outlawed in Ukraine. I live in Ukraine and am a russian-speaker. They killed me a few years ago for saying “spasibo” It was very sad, I had to attend my own funeral.
