It was a pleasure to spend the evening with the brilliant young people from @UKPatchwork.
The future of our democracy depends on young people from every background stepping forward.
I hope our discussion encouraged the next generation to keep asking questions!

I’m genuinely honoured to receive Young People’s MP of the Year from @UKPatchwork.
Patchwork do incredible work amplifying young voices too often unheard in our democracy.
This award means so much because it comes from young people themselves.

🏆 Patchwork MP of the Year Awards 2024
Last night, I was honoured to be crowned Newcomer MP of the Year. This was hugely humbling after hearing how many nominations there’d been and I’m so grateful to those who took time to nominate me - I honestly can’t believe it.
After a difficult year for me personally it was a huge boost to realise that the community focussed work I do in Durham, particularly around marginalised groups, young people and inequalities, was recognised by @UKPatchwork and the judging panel.
I still feel like I’m dreaming! A big thanks to my incredible team without who I just couldn’t function.
❤️

Our 'Mini-Ministers' cohort recently had an exciting afternoon at @NewsUK where we had a Masterclass with @Hoffman_Noa. We discussed the role of journalists during a general election, advice on starting a career in journalism and the importance of your well-being.
