Well, last month we tried to fund special education with an additional $315m and provide $302.5m to lower property taxes. @WISenateDems voted "No." We also gave $2billion more the classrooms than 15 years ago and let teachers control their classrooms. You voted "No" on that.
Senate Democrats and @SenHesselbein are prepared to fix Wisconsin's public education funding formula and deliver property tax relief. What has @WisSenGOP done to improve our public schools?

Juneteenth marks the day freedom finally reached those from whom it had been kept the longest. My party, the Republican party, was born in that same fight; founded by abolitionists who believed equal opportunity was the fulfillment of this nation’s promise.

It's Veto File Friday! 📁 Governor Evers vetoed SB 7, a bill that would have prohibited hostile foreign governments like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea from purchasing Wisconsin farmland and forests. Wisconsin land does NOT belong in hostile foreign hands!

Today, we celebrate both Flag Day and the 251st birthday of the US Army. Did you know the first Flag Day celebrations were held here in Wisconsin? In 1885, a teacher in Waubeka named Bernard Cigrand held the first recognized observance of what became Flag Day, honoring the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as our national flag.

🇺🇸 Did you know Flag Day started right here in Wisconsin? Join me in Waubeka at the historic Stony Hill School to learn how a one-room schoolhouse helped launch a national tradition.

Veto File Friday is back! 📁 Governor Evers vetoed AB 5, a bill that would have guaranteed parents' ability to review curriculum and instructional materials in public schools. Parents deserve transparency. It's as simple as that.

Are you wondering why so many public school districts across Wisconsin have been asking local taxpayers for additional funding through referendums? A bombshell report from the Institute for Reforming Government explains the main reason behind this. According to the IRG analysis, Wisconsin public schools now employ one adult for every seven students, breaking the all-time ratio record. Simply put, we are educating fewer pupils with more staff, and many of those new hires are not teachers. From 2010 to 2025, Wisconsin public schools lost 65,381 students while adding 973 teachers and 11,108 non-instructors. If you would like to know how this is impacting local taxpayers, please check out the IRG report by clicking below: reforminggovernment.org/irg-… @ReformingGovt @WisSenGOP

The numbers are in: 80% of Wisconsinites supported the Republican bill to address affordability through surplus checks, no tax on tips and overtime pay, and property tax relief. Every single Senate Democrat voted to block it. ❌ today.marquette.edu/2026/05/…

The surplus is your money and it belongs back in your pocket. That’s why I voted for a bill that would have done that. I am disappointed that so many of my colleagues would rather play games with your money rather than work to make life more affordable for all Wisconsinites.

What is best for the people of Wisconsin was getting relief today, not asking people to hope for relief next year. I am disappointed that the people of Wisconsin will suffer because politicians on both sides were unable to see this. This is politics at its worst.

400 years of property tax hikes? "Deal with it." At least that's Governor Evers' message to Wisconsin taxpayers, and the reality if Legislative Democrats have their way. Let's take a dive into this egregious veto in this first Veto File.

Remember when @govevers tried to raise fees on farmers 1700%? And only stopped when the legislature found out? Now, we don’t even get to find out.
Replying to @sbauerAP
This is part of an ongoing power struggle between the Democratic governor and the Legislature. Evers last year won a ruling from the Wisconsin Supreme Court that ended the long-held practice of legislative committees approving rules before they could be published

Legislative Republicans passed real tax relief this session: no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and repealing a 400-year tax increase. Governor Evers vetoed all 3 bills. And as if that wasn't enough, his message to taxpayers? "Deal With It".

Republicans believe university admissions should be based on hard work and good grades. We passed a bill to guarantee that. Democrats opposed it, and of course, Tony Evers vetoed it. It’ll be interesting to see what criteria his regents prioritize instead. Do you think @RepJacobson or @RepRobynVining will volunteer to look your child in the eye and explain why they were rejected?
