The premise an empty bed cost £. They don’t, they provide flexibility, opportunity to admit someone while another bed is being emptied. Blocked A&E cancelled operations!

Our emergency departments are very busy, with wait times several hours long for those with less urgent conditions.
If its not an emergency, you can avoid a long wait by choosing a service more appropriate for your needs.
