🚨 FIVE IPC MISTAKES. DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES.
The UK Covid-19 Inquiry exposed serious failings in infection prevention and control (IPC) during the pandemic.
❌ Failure to apply the precautionary principle
❌ Misunderstanding how respiratory infections spread
❌ Inadequate respiratory protection
❌ Inconsistent and unclear guidance
❌ Failures in expertise, accountability and oversight
Healthcare workers paid a devastating price.

Our open letter to UK infection control leads went today.
Patients can be asked to remove their FFP2 or FFP3 mask, or swap it for a surgical one, while staff can now choose a respirator if treating a patient with respiratory symptoms.

Yeah the problem is definitely him & his work-life balance & not that vascular virus that’s surging globally at the moment.
Vincent Kompany collapsed on Friday afternoon, where concerns about Kompany's work-life balance had existed internally for weeks. Squad and staff repeatedly raised that he sleeps too little, hardly exercises himself, eats too much and irregularly, drinks a lot of coffee, and takes on too heavy a workload. Some at Bayern now link his health problems to these factors. [@BILD]
