Warm congratulations to Navi Pillay on being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
From her work in South Africa defending Nelson Mandela & others, to her role as an international judge on cases relating to international crimes, including the genocide in Rwanda, to her tenure as High Commissioner for Human Rights, to chairing the @UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, she has shown that the force of law must prevail over the law of force and that defending human rights is the surest safeguard against injustice.
Today’s prize is a tribute to all those working to uphold & defend international law, the rule of law & human rights, and secure peace, justice & human dignity.

You forgot to mention something @antonioguterres. As UN High Commissioner, her office handed the names of more than 50 dissidents, including Uyghurs, to Chinese authorities, after which families testified under oath to intimidation, arbitrary detention, torture, disappearance and deaths in camps.
UN whistleblower Emma Reilly, who worked under Pillay, states she warned of the risk and was dismissed while staff who transmitted the names were promoted. This makes Pillay at least partly responsible of what happened to these people.
She later chaired the UN commission that in 2025 found Israel had committed genocide in Gaza, largely from public statements and perceived wartime conduct from news reports. Furthermore records show repeated statements focused on Israel alongside silence on many of the world’s most repressive regimes, Iran for example.
Why do you fail to address these documented contradictions? As they would surely not make her eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize?

@antonioguterres should go to hell, the most antisemitic man chose the most antisemitic woman. The world knows Navy doesn't deserve a gold sticker never mind a nobel peace prize. You have made a joke of this once prestigious award. Why Navi Pillay was given the Nobel Peace Prize is beyond comprehension. Before she was appointed to lead that "impartial” inquiry at thew UN, she had already called Israel an apartheid state and signed a petition to "Sanction Apartheid Israel." She defended a fellow commissioner who complained about the "Jewish lobby," and her commission accused Israel of genocide without ever hearing Israel's side. The Nobel Committee says it is honouring her career, but this prize comes right after four years spent singling out the world's only Jewish state. Rewarding that sends a terrible message to Jews everywhere at a time when antisemitism is surging.
