"The drop in homicide over the past four years is one of the most significant public safety developments in decades. Theories and claims abound, and sorting among them is essential if we’re going to sustain the progress." - CCJ President and CEO @abgelb

We always make room for fun on our Cohort trips, too. This year, we spent the day at a working gaucho ranch in Argentina—basically Argentine cowboys. Horses, food, tradition, and a lot of laughs. What a blast. 🇦🇷🐎 Thanks @glennEmartin for the finger of love :-) @ARrow4Justice

We wrapped up our 2026 Prison Proximity Trip with a visit to an Argentina’s Correctional Officer Academy. The training is impressively robust—two years total, with the first year completed virtually, followed by intensive in-person preparation.

Final prison: Olmos. Once notorious for extreme violence, it now has substantial programming. But overcrowding is staggering—cells built for 4 holding 12–14. Still, we saw real effort: workshops, electrical training, and programs focused on life after prison. @ARrow4Justice

We sat down with judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys in Argentina: -They spoke incredibly freely. -They largely agreed on the solutions—and human dignity was at the center of them. That kind of conversation is rare in the U.S. @ARrow4Justice

Two prison visits in Junín, Argentina: real commitment to rehabilitation and substantial programming, but overcrowding and staffing shortages create a major gap between policy and reality. European ideas, without European resources. And we got FRESH donuts! 🍩 @ARrow4Justice

Thrilled to share that Guilt by Parenthood has found a home with the Yale Law Journal. This piece examines parental liability and parental rights, and how they are connected by a shared logic that harms children and families. Thank you to those who helped!

We think this is an important issue for conservatives to weigh in on:
"For conservatives, supporting proportional sentencing is not leniency — it is a principled approach to a justice system tempered by responsibility and accountability.” @RachelWrightROC @tolmanbrett Click here to read: rightoncrime.substack.com/p/…

For those in the advocacy space, this should be a must read, regardless of the subject of the legislation. It reflects what my colleagues at @UnifyUSOfficial have always done. Develop trust and mutual respect. Build bridges. Establish durable coations. – at Belle Haven, VA
