@MunCorpGurugram these machines are generating more dust than they are removing. Plz equip these with water-spraying and effective dust-collection systems. Help in reducing pollution instead of adding to it. 🙏 #AirPollution @CPCB_OFFICIAL @gurgaon_live @DC_Gurugram @cmohry

This road in Sector 61, Gurugram, is heavily covered in dust, contributing to road dust pollution and poor air quality.
Requesting @CAQM_Official and @OfficialGMDA to kindly take note and arrange for immediate dust scraping/removal, along with necessary dust mitigation measures.
Please address this on priority to help curb dust pollution and protect public health.
Thanks

Its such a notable thing that a mere city infra development agency is using its brilliant mind & intelligence in providing its lesser mortal citizens an experience of lunar crators, Martian lands and maybe some from the #blackhole where no human being including @NASA has been able to venture but our brilliant minds @OfficialGMDA have been able to.

Dust has become a bigger problem than air pollution in Delhi.
For the last 8 years, I genuinely don’t know what they’ve been doing. Every few months, they dig up the same streets for some reason, leave them unfinished & fill the air with dust.
Broken roads, endless construction, massive corruption, and dust everywhere.
And that dust never settles because of the constant traffic passing by.
How long are Delhiites supposed to live like this?

India wants to be a superpower but can’t keep a road free of dust.
Every walk becomes a dust bath, every breath a construction site souvenir.
Citizens eat dirt while politicians serve speeches about world class infrastructure.
Ashok Moyal retweeted
Just because a road is expected to be redeveloped does not mean it must be left in piles of dust and malba till it's made. Residents cannot breathe dust daily and commuters can't suffer #pollution #GCERdust
@RaoNarbir ji must have some sensitivity as an Envt Minister. Otherwise residents will flee Gurgaon.

Over 32,000 Stilt+4 approvals in Gurugram over 7 years. But are we getting the basics of urban governance right?
Hon’ble @mlkhattar ji, CM @NayabSainiBJP ji, @TCP_HARYANA & @dtcphry: Before adding density to occupied neighbourhoods, please ensure infrastructure capacity keeps pace with population growth. Introduce cleaner construction techniques, strictly enforce construction-dust norms, and mandate effective demolition-dust containment, including compliance during traditional stone-cutting and other dust-generating activities. Stop illegal malba dumping and remove the mountains of construction debris choking Gurugram. Most importantly, improve ambient air quality in residential sectors and protect residents from the daily burden of dust and pollution.
We have already written to CAQM on these concerns. CAQM has, in turn, marked our letters to MCG and HSPCB.
Why demolish relatively recent homes and burden settled colonies when suitable new areas could be planned and developed with infrastructure in place upfront?
Plan S+4Flr in new sectors wherein activities can be planned without causing structural damages and dust and noise pollution in well settled neighbourhoods.
मकान बनाना रियल एस्टेट का काम है; शहर बसाना और उसे रहने लायक बनाए रखना सरकार की ज़िम्मेदारी है।

Delhi people: “Why are we paying taxes if we can’t even breathe clean air?”
Also Delhi people: Burn Ravan effigies, burst crackers, add to the pollution.
Then blame the government, blame the country, and rush to buy air purifiers when the AQI hits the roof.
You can’t be the reason the air is unbreathable and then act like the victim of a system you refuse to take responsibility for. The hypocrisy is insane. 💀

And Road Dust remains one the prime contributors of PM10.
But @CAQM_Official pays only lip service and some occassional photo ops to deal with it.

Bengaluru, Delhi and Kolkata crossed India’s annual PM10 standard before winter
Full analysis: indiaairenergy.substack.com/…
An analysis of CPCB monitoring data for five Indian megacities identifies the benchmark-crossing date: the date when a city’s cumulative daily PM10 concentrations, divided by 365, first reach India’s annual standard of 60 µg/m³. In other words, pollution up to that date is already sufficient to push the annual average to the national limit, even if concentrations were zero for the rest of the year.
📍 Delhi: Crossed the benchmark in the first four months of the year.
📍 Bengaluru: Crossed in late September.
📍 Kolkata: Crossed in mid-October.
📍 Chennai: On track to cross by the end of October.
📍 Mumbai: On track to cross in the first week of November, if current trends continue.
➜The bigger concern? India’s air quality standards have not been revised since 2009. The national annual PM10 standard is 60 µg/m³, four times the WHO’s health-based annual guideline of 15 µg/m³.
➜These early crossings expose a persistent, year-round pollution burden affecting millions of urban residents, well before winter pollution peaks. They also raise a fundamental question: Are India’s air quality standards sufficiently ambitious to protect public health?
➜ India needs stronger emissions control and updated air quality standards that reflect the latest health evidence.
Data note: Overshoot dates use cumulative daily PM10 concentrations divided by 365.
