Theo Von asks Sophie Cunningham what she thinks of WNBA players walking out during the national Anthem. THEO VON: “How do you feel about that, or do you have any thoughts on it?” CUNNINGHAM: “I mean, you know who you’re talking to? OF COURSE, I have thoughts on it.” Cunningham stopped short of bashing her peers, but she made it clear she’s PROUD to be an American and will always show love for our troops. Theo Von couldn’t understand why WNBA players making an average of $518,000 a year can’t show gratitude to the country that made their dreams possible. Funny how the league that never stops demanding respect can’t give its own country even 20 seconds of it.

Secretary Rubio, A country that welcomes people from across the world has every reason to take seriously those who respond to that welcome by celebrating the murder of its citizens. I urge the Department of State to enforce its announced policy toward foreign nationals who glorify political assassination, including a review of the recorded incident at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Following Charlie Kirk’s assassination, your Department established a clear position. Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau warned that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are unwelcome and directed consular officials to review statements praising, rationalizing, or making light of the killing. You stated... “America will not host foreigners who celebrate the death of our fellow citizens.” At a Turning Point USA “Pick Up the Mic” event at UTSA, a participant later identified as Isa Casahuga, who introduced herself as “Pamper Baby” and described herself as an immigrant, used the microphone to recite a poem about Kirk’s assassination. Adapting the language of a familiar Christmas poem, she invoked the “Kirkiversary,” described “a shot to the neck,” and promoted a gathering called “Squirt for Kirk.” When Christian Collins challenged her conduct, she answered... “Baby, I’m thrilled.” She then turned her attention to the living speaker before her... “You’re brave for being out here,” she said, referring to his having “no protection” and no “neck brace.” That final remark is unforgivable. Having made one man’s fatal wound the centerpiece of her performance, she turned to the living speaker before her and drew attention to his vulnerability to the same violence. The warning to young conservatives willing to pick up a microphone was unmistakable... remember what happened to Charlie Kirk. Political assassination destroys more than a life and it attacks the freedom of everyone who must decide whether speaking publicly is worth the danger. Celebrating the killing extends that injury. It tells the victim’s family that their grief is entertainment and tells others entering public life that their deaths, too, may become an occasion for applause. A university microphone carries a particular responsibility. Open debate depends on people being willing to appear, disagree, and answer one another in public. Turning a speaker’s murder into a joke corrodes the conditions that make that exchange possible. A visa is a privilege. A privilege extended by the American people, held on good behavior, revocable by the American people. Celebrating the assassination of our citizens is the clearest failure of good behavior there is. Your Department recognized the gravity of celebrating political murder when it announced this policy. Isa Casahuga’s public celebration of that cruelty demands that the principle now be enforced. The people willing to stand before a microphone should never have to wonder whether the government takes the celebration of their possible murder as seriously as those celebrating it do.
At @UTSA for Pick Up the Mic, a student read a poem celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk with such glee, then told me I was brave to be out here without my neck covered. I told her I’d pray for her. This is the climate. We pick up the mic anyway.

Man gas is really expensive, I better vote for the party that flooded our country with tens of millions of illegals, funded the creation of COVID-19 that killed tens of millions, turned the intel agencies on private citizens, mutilated & indoctrinated our children at scale, stole an election, illegally spied on the opposition party/candidate, sabotaged an administration, framed a duly elected president, ignited a color revolution, bankrolled Hamas protests on college campuses and universities, censored Americans, jailed supporters, staged a fedsurrection, locked hands with islamists, and installed a non compos mentis dementia patient as leader of the free world.

America’s corporate governance system is broken, and it’s killing public companies. Look no further than Cracker Barrel: Decades of brutal mismanagement have seen one incompetent CEO after another walk away with a massive paycheck while customers and actual shareholders take a beating. Why does this keep happening? Because proxy advisory firms like ISS are corrupt. They blindly rubber-stamp failing boards year after year, protecting the corporate elite while burning shareholder value to the ground. The root of the rot is index funds. There's no question that indexing one's money is a smart financial move for most people. But just because you passively index your investments doesn't mean your corporate votes should be handed over to the managers of your fund so they can play politics. Right now, passive funds hold massive, unchecked voting blocks while having zero skin in the game themselves. It is time for a simple rewrite of the rules: We need to index the votes of index fund investors. Passive index funds should be forced to automatically split their votes to proportionately mirror those of retail and active institutional shareholders — the people actually doing the research, risking their capital, and fighting for performance in the companies they hold shares in. No more rubber-stamping. A change like this will immediately strip corrupt gatekeepers like ISS of their toxic influence. True accountability happens when lazy, overpaid boards actually answer to the stakeholders they represent, rather than screwing them over. Actual, logic-driven governance when your money is passive happens when your vote passively follows the voting decisions of the actual market. We need to stop letting passive capital protect active incompetence. By stripping index funds of their arbitrary voting power and empowering engaged investors, we will finally torch corporate cronyism and usher American capital markets into a golden age of capitalism.

I spent 30 years in academia. Here are my observations about my students. Toward the end, I was teaching “Gen Z." These students combined ignorance with strident moral certainty. They seemed to have had no general education at all, and lacked the most basic knowledge of history, even recent history. They were immature and emotionally fragile. Many could not handle criticism, no matter how sugar coated. It took very little to reduce them to tears – or to send them into a fit of narcissistic rage. They were shockingly bereft of intellectual curiosity, and many gave the impression of having no internal life at all. I'll share more observations later.
