White people can't understand how culturally dominant China was in nearby countries like Japan, Korea, Vietnam. Their language is based on it. Their ruling class copied China! It's like if France invaded England and then they used French words, food, courtly traditions, etc

He's gonna get sworn in on a Qur'an and a University of Michigan Sweatshirt and it's gonna give JD Vance an aneurysm
El-Sayed: "I just pointed out the fact that constitutionally he's obligated to swear me in. And he did go to Ohio State University, which of course is a lesser university than the University of Michigan."

Something that is unique to this cycle is that, in 2025, this looked like a suicide mission, and thus many of the candidates who signed up for the fight are true believers — but then the tide shifted, and so now we have a bunch of Real Ones headed to Congress instead of the usual donor-approved 60 year old State Senator who waited his turn

Christians when you ask why universal human rights only existed after the secular Enlightenment stripped the Church of its power to burn heretics and bless slave ships

becoming exceedingly obvious that many people have kids just so they can have a little clone of themselves to treat like a slave
Explaining to my very non-snuggly little daughter that I grew her & let her live inside my body for almost a year for the express purpose of being able to have a nice cuddle once in a while, so she doesn’t have a choice in the matter

Maybe this is impolite to point out but if your annual salary is equivalent to a year of daycare, you probably don't have a real career to "throw out"
Daycare is a household expense, not a mother's expense. Throwing out your career for 3 years of childcare is insane.

my son ended up in the hospital, as low as the 0.02nd percentile and was swimming in his 0-3 month clothing at 3 months old. I pumped and fortified with formula for months and months to help him gain weight before finally switching to just formula. formula saved him.
Hot take: formula feeding is like abortion. 90% of the time (or more) it’s for convenience. Women will make 70384 excuses as to why they couldn’t breastfeed, but in truth, they didn’t want the extra responsibility. A small percentage had real reasons not to.

How can you introduce a new character called Jason TURKISH and have him be BALD AS HELL???? Get new writers!
#MichiganSenate Detroit News: Haley Stevens' fiancé Jason Turkish says he believes Abdul El-Sayed is anti-semitic which has convinced him to vote for Mike Rogers. Turkish intends to attend a Mike Rogers event on Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Birmingham. There, Rogers is set to take part in a forum sponsored by the Republican Jewish Coalition titled, "Who Will Keep Us Safe? Rogers vs. El-Sayed in the Wake of October 7th and the Temple Israel Attack."

It's important for parents to understand your child's developmentally appropriate reaction to a thing you chose to do doesn't necessarily mean you were wrong to do it or your child is suffering. The only way for kids to learn they are fine and safe without you is like this.
Not unhealthy but we went to Mexico for a few days and left our toddler with my in laws. We face timed and called daily. When we got back my kid was terrified of us leaving him at the gym daycare because he thought we were going to be separated again.

I’m open to nuance here, but there were actually an extremely wide range of baby care practices among our ancestors… some of which were fine and some of which are clearly not appropriate for modern life - like keeping children in cradleboards almost constantly during the early months, sometimes resulting in hip dysplasia and permanent flat heads. Or feeding babies “pap” (a mix of flour and water) almost immediately after birth, often because Mom could not initiate breastfeeding well or for other cultural reasons, frequently resulting in illness (like botulism) and malnutrition. Or exposing babies with birth defects as undesirable, resulting in death by starvation, cold, or wild animal. I am always suspicious of people who are very confident about replicating what our ancestors did, because almost certainly they are picking and choosing the practices they like best, and labeling it “traditional” when actually what they are doing is “neo trad” at best.
