NEW πŸ”₯ Richard Osman calls out Celebrity Traitors fans who criticised Series 2 online: β€œDon’t jump on the back of a show that’s made by incredibly talented people, that has been a hit, which is not something you’ve been able to do in your lifetime … Until that moment, you know what? Just let other more talented people do the thing that they want to do.”

There is so much good, balanced and insightful about the BBC’s football coverage - John Murray, Ian Dennis, Guy Mowbray, Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan, Kelly Dalglish, Alan Shearer and plenty more, including hugely respected voices across local radio, Nick Barnes, Giulia Bould, Adam Blackmore, Nick Godwin and many others. The BBC has good reporters covering Manchester United but a usually excellent website’s daily focus on Michael Carrick’s job prospects – in, out, in out, it’s like the Boat Race – has become wearisome when the real focus should be more on the Glazers. They are far more responsible for the systemic mess at United? The Glazers. Carrick may well be out of his depth in a job that has already defeated more famous managers. But he’s faced the challenge, and faced up to the media, with dignity. All media obsesses about United (see my timeline tbf), always huge news. But the BBC, the national broadcaster, whose values include β€œthe provision of impartial, high-quality and distinctive output”, has to be balanced - and never forget that there’s a human being in the headlines.

Ashley Young on Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada: "We’ve asked for an interview and nobody wants to come out and speak. There has to be someone upstairs that comes out and says what their vision is and if they will back Michael Carrick or go another direction. They don’t know what’s happening. If they do make a change with Carrick someone else upstairs will have to go as well." [@primevideosport]

Yelland on the BBC: β€˜One of the many, many extraordinary things about this crisis is how there haven't been any leaks from within Manchester City.’ Also Yelland: β€˜I'm not a spokesman for Manchester City, but naturally I speak to friends there as friends do.’ Also Yelland: β€˜I can tell you 100% for certain, with no fear of contradiction, that the PR people of Manchester City - and anyone externally that's helping them - are not preparing for failure.’ Which is it @davidyelland? No leaks from within Manchester City? Or did they brief you (and others)? πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

***ANNOUNCEMENT*** Coming on February 27th on Blu-ray in the US from @All3America: #Spaced: The Complete Series (1999-2001)! Note: Pay special attention to their notes on the restoration for the show. This has been done with no input from Edgar Wright. "Finding out about this for the first time is… disheartening,” wrote the director on X in response to a fan asking about his involvement in β€œSpaced: The Complete Series”. β€œI had been pushing to do a Blu-Ray of SPACED for years, so to find out that someone just went ahead without our involvement is…. a bummer. Not authorized by anyone involved in making the show.” From the mind of Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) comes Spaced, the acclaimed Cult Britcom known for its witty writing, pop culture references, and dynamic camera work. This is the series that introduced the world to Simon Pegg (later to co-star alongside Tom Cruise in six Mission Impossible films) as relatable everyman Tim, who must pretend to be in a relationship with Daisy (Jessica Hynes, Death of a Unicorn) to rent the only flat they can afford in North London. Spaced balances humor with heartfelt moments, making it both funny and touching while reveling in homages to various films and TV shows to become an international, generational hit. ***This global first Blu-Ray collection has been upgraded to a brand new 4K master using a combination of traditional and proprietary tools in a multi-step process of non-commercial and algorithmic corrections that are additionally enhanced frame by frame by a manual operator - guaranteeing the most state-of-the-art up-conversion possible.*** Preorder: link.amazon/B0aCj2ZSx #BluRay #Ad #PhysicalMedia #BluRays #BoutiqueBluRay #CultMovies #DiscConnected #EdgarWright #SimonPegg #JessicaHynes

Fair play to Carragher. It takes real courage to put your club bias aside and call out Mac Allister’s disgusting behaviour like that. He deserves credit for it. Respect.

Let this be abundantly clear: Brent is NOT a United fan, no genuine United fan would ever consider Carrick a shit ex player. Fuck me he’s clueless and people will lap it up thinking his word is gospel
So Michael Carrick is a shit ex-player 🀦 His minions will come after me here, that’s fine. I’m not interested in a manager debate, it’s boring but to call Carrick a shit ex-player just shows his true colours. Embarrassing.

Finding out what happened as we speak...
So SPACED is finally coming to blu-ray and it's from an "algorithmic" remaster in 4K... C'mon, seriously? @edgarwright did you have any involvement in this? Because an AI upscale is most disappointing...
