Has the cause of the death of Hubert Aiwanger been established?

The central message of this paper is relatively simple. Bitcoin's volatility declines approximately with the age of the network. But its volatility memory does not appear to expand in proportion to that age. At the same time, the statistical distribution of returns changes in a direction that challenges a specific class of stochastic-clock models. These findings suggest that the amplitude, memory, and shape of fluctuations should be treated as distinct properties, rather than assumed to be different expressions of one underlying process. A power law may describe how a system scales, but it does not, by itself, explain how the system evolves, and thus to which universality class that power law pertains. The general mathematical contribution is to show how assumptions about stationarity in logarithmic age generate exact restrictions on the relationship between returns observed at different stages of a system's development, and how stronger assumptions generate additional, testable predictions. The empirical contribution is to show that Bitcoin does not simply become a smaller version of its younger self. Its fluctuations change in more than one dimension, and those dimensions do not necessarily follow the same clock. Its behavior remains unique across crypto assets. This distinction is relevant beyond financial markets. For example, researchers studying earthquake aftershock sequences, growing networks, biological systems, or disordered materials may encounter processes in which the overall amplitude, persistence, and distributional shape evolve at different rates. The framework developed in this paper offers a way to formulate and test such possibilities, exploiting the broad availability of past and future data of the Bitcoin network. But it should be clear that those mentioned are potential applications on different datasets, not empirical findings established by the Bitcoin analysis itself.

Some people say stuff like MAGA is dead... this or that troublesome politician is finished... civilization, reason or whatever is coming back... Great, but... Have the issues that made possible MAGA or this or that troublesome politician be addressed? Or did we just fall from a proverbial horse we were riding backwards...?

Following Sir Winston Churchill’s death, his widow Clementine received many letters. One particularly poignant, “That he died is unimportant, for we must all pass away. That he lived is momentous to the destiny of all. He is not gone. He lives wherever men are free.”

Due to a lack of success on the battlefield and a failure to use Trump to force Ukraine into surrender, the Russian strategy has become pure terrorism with the goal of murdering as many women & children as possible. Russia isn't some unstoppable leviathan - it's Hamas or Al Qaida with more resources. They lost more men than the US in Vietnam in the space of a few months while losing ground. All they can do is terrorism, threats and sabotage. Anyone withholding aid to Ukraine or blocking the seizure of Russian assets is complicit.
I have no words🤬🤬 The horrifying moment a russian shahed drone strikes residential buildings in the Obukhiv district, Kyiv region. A 14-year-old child was killed.

Yes, the blue wave is a historic victory to celebrate. No, it changes nothing for Europe. As has been crystal clear since 2016 and raging-dumpster-fire-clear since 2024, we can’t count on the US to defend us. Defeating Russia is our job. With or without US support. Git ’er done.

"AfD and Restore are showing us the way." Sorry, I prefer to look up to winners
The AfD and Restore are showing us the way. If this isn’t the turning point and we don’t learn our lessons, then we go extinct. Let the youth lead the way.

Two new companion preprints, with replication packages and prediction registries. They both work on Bitcoin data: one is about the trend, one is about the noise. Links below.
I've been working for some time now on the Bitcoin Network from the perspective of games, complex systems and network theory analysis. While some of my objectives haven't been reached up to now, next week I will publish my results, which still contain quite a few novelties compared to the existing literature. I thank @Giovann35084111 and @moneyordebt for opening my eyes to this perspective. The evolution of the Bitcoin network is proving not only to be an interesting case study, but indeed a unique experiment for analyzing scaling regularities in complex systems. More ideas are required in this field. Sagacius ista.

In 15 min, you’ll know if the US is going full banana republic when Treasury announces refunding. Treasury doubled its long-end buybacks to $4 billion or more per operation ahead of the midterms, and that window closes today, so the refunding shows whether the long bond is still a market or a managed price. If Bessent comes out with bigger coupon auctions, a permanent buyback bid, or both, the structure is plain: Treasury is doing the Fed’s old job of suppressing term premium by hand, because private buyers want a higher yield for every new dollar of paper the deficit throws at them. Mind you, the buyback is the plan working as designed. Fund the gap in bills, buy back the expensive 30-year, and call it liquidity support. The bill lands elsewhere. August showed it: when the buyback news hit, the dollar fell and gold rose, and bitcoin caught the same bid. Spend harder from here and that trade runs again, only now with a Fed that can’t tighten without breaking the auctions Treasury is propping up. That’s fiscal dominance, whatever name the press office gives it. So who’s the marginal buyer once Treasury stops pretending it’s only smoothing?
