WE CALLED THEM DOC BEFORE MOST OF THEM WERE OLD ENOUGH TO BUY A BEER.
We gave them grief about everything.
The aid bag was bigger than they were. There were endless reminders to drink water and change our socks. The answer to every ache is somehow involving Motrin.
Then we’d pull them aside.
“Hey, Doc… let me ask you something. Don’t tell anybody.”
They knew everybody’s problems. And usually wished they knew a few less. 😂
But on patrol, you always knew where Doc was.
When somebody yelled “MEDIC!”, nobody was thinking about their age anymore.
You were looking for that aid bag and listening for their voice. Watching them get to work on somebody you’d eaten breakfast with a few hours earlier.
They were treating their friends.
Then, after the casualty was evacuated, they had to repack that bag and keep going with the rest of us.
Some of us got to thank our Doc years later. Some are still trying to find the words.
Some Docs never made it home.
To our GWOT combat medics and corpsmen: we remember the jokes, the care, and the moments you probably thought nobody noticed.

Losing an election is not an “election crisis”; sometimes your neighbors out-vote you.
POTUS has previously refused to accept election results when Republicans lose. It’s reasonable to assume he may do the same in a few weeks.
The short version of @DataRepublican's exposure of our domestic enemies' treasonous conspiracy is that they are:
a) Planning for the election crisis they're creating,
b) Going to DARVO,
c) Intent on leveraging the crisis to "restructure" U.S. governance.
They should flee now.

CLAIM: "California isn't verifying citizenship."
REALITY: California is following current Federal law regarding voter registration.
Under the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, states must "accept and use" a federal registration form. 52 U.S.C. § 20508(b)(2) says that form must contain an attestation, signed under penalty of perjury, that the applicant is a U.S. citizen. The Help America Vote Act (2002) added the "Are you a citizen?" checkbox to that form. 52 U.S.C. § 21083(b)(4)(A).
Arizona tried to require documentary proof in addition to the federal form. The Supreme Court struck it down in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council (2013), 7–2, opinion by Justice Scalia. "Accept and use" means the form is sufficient. States may not add a proof-of-citizenship requirement to it for federal elections.
California's own registration form works the same way (Elec. Code §§ 2101, 2102(c), 2111, 2150(a)(1), 2264). It fully complies with the federal standard.
Proposals to change this have been made, BUT they have not passed Congress. The SAVE Act, which would require documentary proof of citizenship to register, has passed the House three times (most recently Feb. 11, 2026) but never the Senate.
In March 2025, POTUS tried to order the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to add a documentary-proof requirement to the federal form. A federal judge permanently blocked that: the President has no authority to rewrite the federal form. Only Congress does.
"California isn't verifying citizenship" is not an accusation. It's a description of the current law.
If you want the law to be different, lobby your representative.
