On the sidelines of the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, I held highly productive engagements with PSB Bank and Rossotrudnichestvo. Zimbabwe remains open for business. Backed by a robust 8.3% economic growth rate, we are deepening our practical partnerships in trade, investment, and strategic financing. We are translating political goodwill into tangible projects by proposing a joint technical working group with PSB Bank, the Ministry of Finance, and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to drive trade finance. We also continue to track BRICS developments on national payment systems. Beyond economics, our bilateral friendship remains firmly anchored on human-capital development. With over 1,000 Zimbabwean students studying at Russian universities in critical fields like sciences, medicine, and technology, we are securing our nation's future.

AFRICA YOUTH LEADER SIGNS STRATEGIC COOPERATION MoU WITH RUSSIA’S ROSCONGRESS MOSCOW, RUSSIA – African Youth Congress Chairman and ZanuPF National Deputy Secretary for Commissariat Cde Taurai Kandishaya has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia’s Roscongress Foundation, opening avenues for youth cooperation, knowledge exchange and potential trade partnerships between Zimbabwe, Russia and other stakeholders linked to the foundation. Cde Kandishaya signed the agreement with Roscongress Chief Executive Officer Mr Alexander Stuglev upon his arrival in Moscow, where he is participating in engagements surrounding the Third Russia-Africa Summit. Roscongress is a Russian organisation known for organising major international economic and diplomatic forums, including the Russia-Africa Summit. The agreement is expected to establish a framework for strengthening cooperation among young people while creating platforms for exchanging ideas, building networks and exploring business opportunities involving Russian companies and other partners associated with the foundation. Speaking after the signing ceremony, Cde Kandishaya described the agreement as a significant milestone in expanding international engagement and creating opportunities for young people to participate in economic and business initiatives. He emphasised the importance of building partnerships that go beyond political dialogue to include practical economic cooperation, entrepreneurship and trade. Cde Kandishaya also expressed gratitude to President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, crediting the President’s Engagement and Re-engagement policy with creating opportunities for Zimbabweans, particularly young people, to establish international connections. He further acknowledged the President’s mentorship and guidance, describing his participation in the Moscow engagements as a valuable opportunity to learn from Zimbabwe’s national leadership. “It is a lifetime opportunity to participate in such a historic event where my mentor and guardian, President E.D. Mnangagwa, is also participating and providing direction,” said Cde Kandishaya. The MoU comes at a time when international partnerships are increasingly being explored as avenues for promoting investment, knowledge exchange and economic cooperation. For Zimbabwean youth, such engagements could provide opportunities to develop business networks, access new ideas and explore markets beyond the country’s borders. The effectiveness of the agreement will ultimately depend on its implementation, including the development of concrete programmes, business linkages and youth-focused initiatives that translate the commitments into measurable outcomes. The signing also highlights the potential role of youth organisations in international engagement, particularly in connecting young people with institutions and business networks that can support entrepreneurship, innovation and economic participation. As Zimbabwe continues to pursue its development ambitions under Vision 2030, partnerships of this nature present an opportunity to explore practical ways of linking international cooperation with youth empowerment and productive economic activity. @DeptCommsZW @Jamwanda2 @TendaiChirau @ParliamentZim @dereckgoto @DumisoJnr22247 @mattmutaz @zanupf_patriots @enkudheni @ZANUPF_Official @HonSakupwanyaK @munyamachacha @HonMachakaire @TateMavetera @KandishayaTaura

ZIMBABWE’S COMMONWEALTH RETURN: STRENGTH IN UNITY Zimbabwe’s renewed engagement with the UK over possible Commonwealth readmission is a significant diplomatic moment. Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, has held high-level talks with British parliamentary leaders — including House of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle and Baroness Taylor of Bolton — bringing fresh momentum to Harare’s long-standing ambition to rejoin the community of nations it left in 2003. Why this matters: ✅ Stronger global standing — a seat at the table on development, governance, trade and education ✅ Economic gains — business-to-business links, investor dialogue and market access ✅ Parliamentary diplomacy — building bridges, not walls ✅ Pragmatic diplomacy — “Friend to all, enemy to none” Zimbabwe is pursuing dialogue in the interest of national development. Engagement is not weakness — it is the recognition that countries achieve more through cooperation than isolation. The goal is clear: readmission. The momentum is real. #CommonwealthReengagement #FriendToAllEnemyToNone #ZimEconomicDiplomacy #Zimbabwe #Vision2030 @BBCNews @10DowningStreet @PolitlcsUK @UKZIMEXPO @DeptCommsZW @edmnangagwa @enkudheni @KMutisi @BaShonaBaShona

Today in Cairo I commended Egypt's mediation role to help create the conditions for dialogue between the United States & Iran. I want to send a loud & clear message: We need maximum restraint & diplomatic solutions. If the saber-rattling we are witnessing now translates itself into a major mutual escalation, the situation in the region can get out of control. And navigational rights & freedoms in accordance with international law must be fully restored in & around the Strait of Hormuz & Bab al-Mandab.

When ecosystems degrade, the consequences reach far beyond wildlife. At #COP17Armenia, UNESCO highlights that around 40% of UNESCO-designated sites struggle to support wildlife due to ecosystem degradation, threatening biodiversity, carbon storage and the 900 million people living in and around these places. @UNESCO’s People and Nature report points to restoration as the immediate priority, led by the communities who live in these landscapes.  Discover the findings:unesco.org/en/articles/peopl…   #ForThePeople #ForNature #COP17
