Itβs the cover up that is almost worse than the scandal.

Hi @andreajenkyns, why did you delete the video of yourself with Paolo Zampoli talking about how you had just had lunch together?
Is it because you realised the House Judiciary Committee investigation stated he was βan active participantβ in Jeffery Epstein's alleged sex trafficking?
Or was it that the FBI said he arranged a modelβs visa before she was recruited to give a massage at Epsteinβs house, where Epstein allegedly raped her?
Or is it the civil lawsuit heβs facing over the alleged drugging and raping of Victoria Drake?
And you think heβs βamazingβ.
Thatβs a lot of promises youβre making there, Mayor.

π€© WOW π€©
@andyburnham says he will not move ahead of the British public on Europe.
Well, look π at this.
π¨ New Ipsos polling finds 56% would vote to rejoin the EU and just 30% would vote to stay out.
Remove those who donβt express a choice and the result is:
πͺπΊ REJOIN: 65%
π¬π§ STAY OUT: 35%
π Thatβs a 30-point lead for rejoining.
73% of under-35s want to rejoin.
54% believe rejoining would improve Britainβs economy.
53% believe it would improve our national security.

word on the street is that websites that make their money through ad space (Google etc) have lost tons in revenue due to implementing ai summary responses. as a hater of both ads and ai, this is hilariously delicious to me

A lot of people were predicting the Budget would derail Burnham and Healey
Replying to @RStruthers17
Healey's Budget is the most popular in our tracker since 2022.
Β
33% of those who heard about it feel positive and 28% negative.
It's the first fiscal event we've polled where more positive than negative.

Google is reportedly pulling the plug on AI Overviews after the feature's massive computing costs and declining ad revenue cost the company billions in market value. Turns out forcing AI into everything wasn't such a brilliant business strategy after all.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Google has not announced or begun pulling the plug on AI Overviews. A Google spokesperson stated the feature has not been reduced and remains dynamic, while the company is expanding ads in AI Overviews and AI Mode.

Thatβs
65% Join the European Union
35% Stay out
When you remove donβt know, wouldnβt vote etc.
Commentators of course will charge (and fairly) that this may change a lot depending on clarifications and conditions of joiningβ¦
However, thereβs no doubting that the country is shifting hugely in mood around our relationship with our European family- and thereβs a large majority which doesnβt like the Brexit box that we are in.
New from @Ipsos_in_the_UK
How would you vote if there was a referendum on the UK applying to join the EU?
Should apply to join 56%
Should stay out 30%

How the fuck they gonna finance $800 billion with a junk rating?
Answer: They are not.
This is a Ponzi falling apart. If they push this turkey through to IPO, all rationality has left the building. Everyone involved should go to prison.
BREAKING: Anthropic is now expected to receive a "high junk" rating from major credit rating agencies after its IPO, which could come as soon as November, per FT.
Details include:
1. Blackstone has told investors that Anthropic likely will not receive an investment-grade rating immediately after its IPO
2. Blackstone is working with banks that stumped up financing on selling the debt on to other investors
3. An investment-grade rating is "central" to Anthropic's ability to continue its AI buildout
4. The company says it expects to spend over $800 billion on computing infrastructure between now and 2045
Debt markets are increasingly in the spotlight as AI funding becomes less abundant.

The BBC says they give Reform wall-to-wall coverage βbecause of their position in opinion pollsβ.
Presumably theyβll now very significantly reduce the platforming given that Reform is tanking in the polls? I hope Zia Yusuf hasnβt been booked too far ahead for Question Time?

Highlights the real fact that public opinion is very different to the 'bot led' mess of social media.
The public liked the Budget - the best rated for 5 years..
The markets liked it - with bond yields falling a little
The right wing media and the bot farms have trashed it
