Jobs called computers "bicycles for the mind" -- tools we could shape to our will.
But they never were. Until now.
Every morning an agent preps me for my day -- calendar, news, last 24hrs of Slack -- in a personal podcast. I made it by asking. Same for hundreds of other things.
Launching @dreamer in beta today.
That 🧠 bicycle, finally.

Fully agree with @patrickc and @mntruell here (32:40) — even the best LLMs end up writing flat, generic prose. We're building @falconer_ai to be the best AI writing tool. Here's a demo of Falconer capturing and writing in Patrick's voice in under a minute:

Crazy how when you actually arrest and prosecute criminals, crime just goes down.
In the first quarter of 2025, property crimes in San Francisco dropped 45%. You're not crazy, things really are getting better!

I think maybe part of the issue is that they're shutting down a major chunk of the economy at a high price to people who make less money than they do, in a bid to make ports less productive so that things will cost more even after the strike is settled.

When you face what appears to be an irreconcilable trade-off apply this test: Does making the upside of A greater make the downside pull against B worse and vice-versa? If so it may be an irreconcilable trade-off.

✅ Generous funding for principal investigators
✅ Scientists determine their own work
✅ Shared platform services for lab work
❌ Red tape and grant-writing overhead
I've long been interested in new ways to organize science and enable curiosity-driven discovery. Today, in partnership with @Stanford, @UCBerkeley, and @UCSF, we're excited to announce Arc Institute, a new undertaking in this vein: arcinstitute.org.

I am really really proud that Twitter decided to use Stripe Billing and the Customer Portal to power their Twitter Blue subscriptions. I spent 5.5 years working at Twitter to help improve the product and it makes me happy that I can in some small way continue to do so at Stripe!

"But since Stripe started paying for carbon removal two years ago, it has stood out for its willingness to pay for unproven technology, people working in the field say. It was the first customer for seven of the projects it backed."
