Big companies like Amazon have built a vast network of subcontractors who deliver their packages while shielding them from accountability.
It leaves our workers unprotected and our streets less safe. It's time for a change.

Les comparto un nuevo artículo de Un Fallo En Matrix sobre Extremismo Violento Nihilista.
Un fenómeno que llevo estudiando un tiempo y que resulta francamente desasosegante. Su crudeza nos obliga a repensar sobre qué aproximaciones pueden ser las más adecuadas en cuanto prevención, detección, intervención, tratamiento, reintegración y reparación a las víctimas.

📝 Durante décadas, el estudio del terrorismo y la violencia extrema ha partido de una premisa estable: todo acto de violencia política responde, en última instancia, a una causa. Yihadismo, extrema derecha, extrema izquierda, separatismo, ecoterrorismo: categorías distintas, pero ancladas en un proyecto ideológico reconocible que, por atroces que sean sus métodos, pretende transformar el orden social hacia una dirección concreta. Esa premisa ha empezado a resquebrajarse.
Ya en abril de 2021, el entonces director del FBI, Christopher Wray, advertía ante el Congreso de una serie de casos de contraterrorismo que eran “more about violence than ideology” —más sobre la violencia que sobre la ideología. Cuatro años después, esa intuición se ha convertido en categoría formal: en 2025, en el marco judicial del caso de Nikita Casap —un joven de diecisiete años de Waukesha, Wisconsin, acusado de asesinar a sus padres y de planear un atentado contra el presidente Donald Trump, con vínculos declarados a la red satánica Order of Nine Angles—, aparece por primera vez en documentos judiciales estadounidenses el término Nihilistic Violent Extremist (NVE), extremista violento nihilista. Una revisión preliminar del NCITE (National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center, Universidad de Nebraska-Omaha) identificó retrospectivamente más de dos docenas de arrestos previos que encajaban con la nueva clasificación.

For decades, the study of terrorism and extreme violence has been based on a firm premise: every act of political violence ultimately stems from a cause. Jihadism, the far right, the far left, separatism, eco-terrorism—these are distinct categories, but they are all rooted in a recognizable ideological project that, however atrocious its methods may be, seeks to transform the social order in a specific direction. That premise has begun to crumble.

Horse-drawn carriages have long been part of New York City’s history.
But with record heat and a busier-than-ever Central Park, it's no longer safe for the horses or the public.
Today’s legislation:
✅ Ends carriage operations by June 1, 2028
✅ Identifies training opportunities and tuition assistance for workers
✅ Creates a plan to help owners find humane placement for their horses
✅ Requires the City to develop a comprehensive workforce transition plan for the workers

Today, @NYCCouncil passed Romanch’s Law, ending horse carriages in NYC by June 2028.
When Central Park was created in 1858, NYC had roughly 800,000 residents, and carriages were part of daily life. Now, the Park sees 40M visits a year, and carriages pose a serious safety risk.
