Remember my posts earlier regarding the myth of the "ballooning" welfare bill.
People on welfare already live in poverty. Every threat to "bring the bill down" means they intend making poor people poorer.
Remember also: there are already twice as many seeking jobs as vacancies.

🗣 @ZackPolanski: “Politicians should wear who sponsors them all over their clothes.”
And here Labour ministers are, proudly wearing Shell logos as they approve the Jackdaw gasfield.
Labour’s priorities are clear: corporate profits over climate action.

ALT Bradford District Green Party Graphic. Red background with darker red swirls. Large white capitals across the top read "POLITICIANS SHOULD WEAR WHO SPONSORS THEM ALL OVER THEIR CLOTHES." Two smiling people in orange hi-vis jackets, each with a Shell logo and holding a green hard hat, stand either side of a large yellow Shell logo. Their labels read "Miatta Fahnbulleh, Energy Secretary" and "John Healey, Chancellor." A tilted Guardian newspaper card reads "Shell profits double to $10.8bn as Iran war pushes up profit margin on oil." Near the bottom, green text reads "JOIN.GREENPARTY.ORG.UK," with small promotional text beneath it.

A member of the steering group reviewing the future of personal independence payment (PIP) has delivered a powerful rebuttal to research – co-written by a fellow member – which called for spending on disability benefits for children to be slashed.

We've reached a point where speaking against genocide carries heavier consequences than committing it.
What a disgrace the UK is.
Who is funding and coordinating the attack on ADHD as a diagnosis and a disability in the UK at the moment? I believe that there is massive funding and focus on ADHD as a
Disorder from some people who have identified ADHD as a problem. To not treat ADHD is going to be costly.

Anyone planning to attend a demonstration in support of Palestine Action in the vicinity of the US Embassy on Saturday, 31 October will face arrest as part of a robust policing operation.
Expressing support for the group is an offence under the Terrorism Act following its proscription in June 2025, a decision upheld by the Court of Appeal in June 2026.

So let me get this right.
BP's profits just hit an 18 year high.
Meanwhile families are sat in coats at home because they're scared to put the heating on.
Why should we keep paying through the nose while they're raking it in?
Something is badly broken.

Disabled people’s organisations have labelled yesterday’s budget as “superficial” and a “miniature sticking plaster” as they wait with concern for the recommendations of two major reviews set to report to the government next month.

Look at these graphs. Does it look like the welfare bill is "ballooning" as claimed by so many MPs and commentators?
This anti-welfare agenda by MUST be pushed back against at every opportunity because MPs are lying.

Following the announcement of expanded eligibility for the Disabled Persons Railcard, we've seen a disturbing wave of disability hate directed at people with ADHD. This has been fuelled by some media outlets, who use clickbait headlines stirring up ableism to bring in more views.

Carole Malone claims anyone who wants benefits just gets them!
She's supposed to be a journalist, yet appears completely unaware of assessments, refusals and the appeals process.
Disabled people deserve factual reporting, not lazy stereotypes and misinformation.
Perhaps it's time for some better research, Carole!

I'm deeply concerned about the environmental impact of hyperscale AI data centres, including here in Leeds.
In September, I tabled a parliamentary motion for a national moratorium on them.
I've now also written to Leeds City Council formally requesting an immediate pause in the planning process for the proposed AI Data Centre at Skelton Grange.

A 14-year-old boy followed a girl into a shop and repeatedly st*bbed her because she refused to date him.
When he appeared before a judge, the court heard about his potential, his intelligence, and the importance of protecting his future.
The judge called him a “bright lad.”
But there was another 14-year-old in this case. A girl whose future had already been profoundly changed by what he did to her.
In March 2026, the girl was attacked in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, after rejecting the advances of a boy from her school.
He had become obsessed with her. After she turned him down, he created fake social media accounts to continue contacting her.
On the morning of the attack, he approached her again and asked her out. She refused.
He followed her into a shop carrying a six-inch kitchen knife.
What happened next was captured on CCTV. He chased her through the shop and stabbed her repeatedly, inflicting wounds to her neck, hands and face. A shopkeeper who tried to intervene was also injured.
Police said the girl was extremely fortunate to survive. A slightly different wound could have killed her.
The boy admitted serious offences, including wounding with intent and carrying a knife.
He spent approximately three months in a secure youth facility before being released on bail.
At sentencing in September, Judge Ian Lawrie said custody was the last place he should be. He wanted to construct a sentence that would provide support and rehabilitation.
The boy received a 12-month referral order and a three-year restraining order.
Then came the girl’s victim statement.
She described flinching whenever someone raised a hand near her. She spoke of nightmares, fear, and the loss of the independence she once enjoyed.
She was now being driven to work because she was frightened to go outside alone.
She was also 14.
Youth justice should recognize that children can change. Rehabilitation is important, and a child’s age must matter.
But the girl is a child too.
Her mother said the family felt failed by the justice system. Parents whose daughters had been killed by former partners also condemned the sentence.
A judge saw a boy with a future worth protecting.
The girl he attacked is still trying to recover the ordinary freedoms she had before he picked up that knife.
