Excellent piece. When a few unelected adjudicators can levy six-figure penalties over speech, the question isn't whether we can dismantle this system, but why we haven't. That's why I tabled my bill. We must continue to fight to abolish this ideologically captured regime.
How the B.C. NDP created a human rights regime to advance their ideological goals and why there is ample precedent for dismantling it today in @WDiminishment Political and social groups champion ideas and values that align with their goals and act as tools to gain or maintain power. Nowhere is this more evident than in the B.C. NDP’s dogged commitment to the B.C. human rights regime. How comfortable are British Columbians with consolidating adjudicative power, backed by substantial monetary penalties, in the hands of a few unelected bureaucrats? This question demands an answer when considering our human rights regime. Abolishing the Human Rights Tribunal and the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner would not be unprecedented in our province’s history, and the suggestion that these actions be taken should not be treated as something beyond possibility. open.substack.com/pub/withou…

You just can't be serious. A few years ago, the full court press was on to import low-skilled foreign labour. Now the push is to import skilled tradesmen. Layer this with the new directive to remove LMIA requirements for high-skilled jobs. The only solace one can take from this years-long, self-inflicted pain is that the majority of Canadians now realize how stupid this is and no longer support mass immigration.
Canada is looking for skilled tradespeople, including carpenters, plumbers and machinists, to help build homes, strengthen our workforce and support critical infrastructure across the country. If you have the training, credentials and experience in the skilled trades we’re looking for, explore our immigration pathways and build your future in Canada: bit.ly/4uXwAoe

'The anti-Canadian left has long scorned colonial history as an era of foreign occupation by the British. They treat the arrival of European colonists in the 16th century as the point at which Canadian history was put on hold, only to resume in the late 20th century. It is regrettable, but not unexpected, that they are being joined by an amusing brigade of alleged “conservatives” and their fellow-travellers. They insist that because Canada’s founding document was signed in 1867, nothing that came before can be claimed by Canadians today. A fascinating thesis. The notion that national histories are entirely determined by legal and political documents has no bearing on this continent. Neither that Charter of Rights of Freedoms here, nor America’s Declaration of Independence, the New Deal or the Civil Rights Act wiped the slate clean'. My latest in the @nationalpost, on nonsense regarding 1812 from last week. nationalpost.com/opinion/geo…

The judge went so far as to call the parole ban “cruel and unusual.” Cruel and unusual is binding two grandparents in their 70s and torturing and murdering them in their own home. This is an outrageous ruling that deserves to be condemned.

I cannot believe Elections BC think it's a good idea to block automated requests to their *election results*, only permitted medias and outlets can stream the results

Canada's spending on housing and healthcare for asylum claimants is OUT OF CONTROL‼️ $3.9m a day, and that's just the federal government's cost. > Total cost: up 7.4× in six years. > Last year alone: up 67%, from $850M to $1.42B. > Health care: up 5.5×, from $162M to $897M, and 52% in a single year The PBO projects the health program alone will pass $1.5 billion a year by 2029-30. It doesn't account for the social assistance, schooling, healthcare and legal aid that provinces pay for. Oh and it doesn't account for the $1B+ taxpayers paid for their hotels.

Migrant workers brutally killed two elderly British Columbians who employed them and now we are being told that it's against their Charter rights to jail them for 25 years without a shot at parole. What a disgrace.

💥 MAJOR BREAKING: Two Indian nationals who tortured and murdered elderly Abbotsford couple Arnold and Joanne De Jong — after being hired to clean their home — have had the 25-year parole ban struck down as “cruel and unusual.” Justice Brenda Brown ruled the 25-year parole ineligibility period is “cruel and unusual punishment.” Sentencing has now been delayed until 2027.

Landowners in Richmond BC were blindsided by the Cowichan ruling. How could BC's top court strip private property protections? After slogging through 12 years of court submissions, testimony and rulings, the answer emerged, but it's not good news for British Columbians. Children were not murdered at Indigenous residential schools and the entire story of 215 graves found in Kamloops is a hoax. Many Indigenous leaders and communities supported or requested schooling, including forms of residential education, specifically to give children skills for a changing world (literacy, farming, trades, English). The numbered treaties of the 1870s included education provisions that Indigenous negotiators sought so their children could acquire the “learning of the white man.” Historical accounts (including works by J.R. Miller and treaty records) show chiefs requesting teachers and schools for practical adaptation after traditional economies were disrupted. Now pass this bill and arrest me. I’d love to present evidence of all this in court.
Bill C-254 would criminalize "condoning, denying, downplaying or justifying the Indian residential school system in Canada" with a two-year prison term:

Dallas said, “We were starting to tweet and talk way too much about immigration.” Dead wrong. The standard of living gap between Canada and the United States is the widest it has been in nearly a century. Net negative immigration would reduce strain on housing, hospitals, and schools while increasing BC workers wages.

He should be expelled for proposing to end Canada as we know it by flooding it with his countrymen. Just bonkers, the hubris.
The Indian High Commissioner to Canada says Carney’s Canada will need 15-million new international immigrants in next decade to meet the job growth. But will Canadians be asked for their opinion if they want the population to potentially double? torontosun.com/news/national…
