Tuesday night: Daniel Behr joined hundreds of Northbrook residents at the Meadow Plaza hearing.
Tracy Katz Muhl posed with JB Pritzker and fellow Democrats at a campaign event in Palatine.
Behr made time for concerned neighbors. Katz Muhl made time for Pritzker.
Priorities.
Don't miss out on your chance to attend one of Illinois's most anticipated Republican events of the year, the Northwest Suburban Lincoln Day Dinner October 28. Sales will close soon, so reserve your seat now!

Meanwhile, in the races between Bruce Rauner and @JBPritzker and @DarrenBaileyIL and @JBPritzker, the CEO of one of Illinois's largest and most influential companies chose... @GregAbbott_TX (at least with his feet!)
United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby is calling for a national wealth tax and inheritance taxes approaching 100% at "some level," arguing that growing wealth inequality has become “a danger to our society.”

Hey, @americanair, is it possible that the CEO of United prefers to live in Dallas because of all the non-stops your airline has between DFW and ORD (and MKE too)?
I mean, if he wanted to live in Texas, he could have chose Houston, where United has a hub.

Cook County put voting booths inside high schools, let teenagers run them, and then tried to keep Republican poll watchers out.
I'm not spinning this. Cook County GOP Deputy Chair T.J. Brown says the clerk's office told Republicans on Oct. 14 that their poll watchers could not go inside the school sites. The office flipped only after the Illinois GOP's lawyer called.
By the time Republicans got the full school list, some sites had already finished voting with no GOP watchers in the building.
Only students and staff could vote at these sites. Student election judges checked people in and handled the ballots.
Now the part that stinks. District 214 is in the program while its neighbors are not, and District 214 has a $295 million bond referendum on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The corporate press covered this as a feel-good "Teen Takeover for Democracy." Not one of them asked why observers got the door slammed in their face.
Election law doesn't stop at the school door. Open it up or shut it down.
I have many doubts about the claims here. To begin, there are no Republican judges on the ballot in Streamwood.
She might have been talking MWRD where we have 3 candidates. If you undervote, the machine will alert you undervoted and ask if that's what you intend to do. The machine then prints out a printed ballot that shows all of your choices. You should check that before running it through the scanner as the paper copy is the official copy and will be what is preserved for any recount.
Shenanigans occur. We're trying to be on top of everything. I'm very dubious of this charge and the woman who recorded this may reach out to me if she wants, but I do not want a false charge take time away from our election attorneys and suppress the Republican vote. Get out and vote, Republicans!
HOLY CR*P 🚨 American went to vote in Illinois, she says when selecting the conservative candidate the screen displays a message that says “people are not typically choosing this person, exclamation mark”
“I picked the Republican judges and once I selected one of the judges, I got a notification on the bar that said, people are not typically choosing this person, exclamation mark. — So why is my ballot telling me that who I'm picking isn't the more popular choice? I have a problem with that”
I have verified this woman is in Cook County, Illinois and Cook County used Dominion Voting machines
According to the Illinois State Board of Elections’ Voting Systems Equipment Log, Dominion is listed as both the equipment vendor and support vendor for their voting machines and has their contract

More impressive than the Hawk's 1987 MVP season is his work as a funeral home director. He and his wife Vanessa purchased a funeral home in Miami that was struggling.
Their work is a ministry comforting the grief-stricken. He serves an underserved area of Miami, an area that needs his services.
Thank you for recognizing Andre Dawson, the man, not just the Hall of Fame ballplayer.
Today, I was proud to present the Governor’s Medal of Freedom to Baseball Hall of Famer and great Floridian Andre Dawson. His distinguished career in Major League Baseball, his contributions to the sport, and his lasting impact on our state have earned him this award.
From his childhood in Southwest Miami, to his college days at FAMU, to his legendary MLB career, “The Hawk” has represented Florida in the best possible way for decades. His generous support of FAMU and its baseball program has helped generations of student-athletes succeed. The Governor’s Medal of Freedom is the highest honor I can bestow on any Floridian, and Andre Dawson truly deserves this recognition.

In addition to the violation of election law of which proper public notice of early voting wasn’t provided this high school site is physically located in Lake County, not Cook county, yet Lake County voting was not actually available. Students, residents & staff from Lake county were turned away.
Lake county clerk office @LakeCountyClerk staying they were not informed about this voting site.
This is all quite strange, isn’t it?

I was a poll watcher at Niles North. I had no problem getting into the school or presenting my credentials. Considering I was asked to poll watch at 9pm the previous evening. Fortunately, my wife was at our Republican township headquarters and was able to bring my credentials home with her.
The adult judges were mentoring the student judges. Everything was above board. 12 people voted at North and 0 people voted at West. They did not put out the 100 foot electioneering mark, because I was told that the school would not allow electioneering. Although they did host a candidate forum with Biss and Ellision. There was an issue with the scanner and one ballot had to be spoiled.
The adult judges said there was little communication with downtown in preparing these events and they were notified about 10 days ago.
I talked with one of the assistant principals and made the point that because of all the secrecy and lack of transparency, it gives one a sense of impropriety and that something akin to ballot stuffing was planned.
These events should be announced in advance and published on the election board's website. The school did promote the event through their internal communications and the turnout was very low.
The candidate forum ended after the polls closed, so there wasn't any rush from the students and staff to vote.

More on the Student Early Voting program which seems to be as successful as the 1969 Chicago Bears.
The Barrington Hills Observer makes some solid points about the legality of it.
At BHS, voting took place Wednesday and no pollwatchers were permitted.

I call on an independent review of the Cook County Clerk's Student Early Voting Program after details were withheld from us even as we requested details for weeks, and then were initially barred from placing pollwatchers at locations. It took an @ILGOP lawyer to call to get pollwatchers in.
