The enjoyed the Never Hike Alone series way more than Crystal Lake. I just rewatched them all again last year, and also included them in my tier ranking list of the Friday the 13th movies.

I've been posting for several days all this stuff cuz I was trying to figure out
What people that like Crystal Lake had against the people that like the films
At least on this app
And I think they view Crystal Lake is their version of Friday the 13th versus the movies
And I think that may be one of the only reasons they like it
This.
When building Never Hike Alone out, the aim was to put a cap on the Paramount Era that the studios never delivered to fans.
It's gift wrapped in super natural revenant lore, beings back Tommy Jarvis, and ties all of the paramount films together in one clean theough line.
If you love the Paramount era, give it a try.

The Paramount era will always be the best
The Friday the 13th movies have not been the same since Paramount quit them
And that's my biggest problem
Too many of these younger directors just do their own thing I've said this a dozen times
And this series feels like it's alienating the Paramount years which is going to hurt it in the long run

I just finished Crystal Lake. Feel like my assessment on 9/14 was pretty spot on. The show tipped its cap to the past, all while creating a new path forward. Did I love it? No, I didn’t. But it was the kind of storytelling that younger audiences want. If it helps resurrect the franchise so a new wave of fans can fall in love with this franchise, that’s a good thing. People like me still have our lore, our stories & our films. Let the newer fans have theirs too.
The way I see it? Us long time fans have our established lore. We have our story. Crystal Lake is designed to bring in a new wave of fans. Re-start the franchise for a generation that didn’t see these films on the big screen like we did. If they want to go the Stranger Things route & it gets the franchise going again, I won’t complain. It’s no different than the choose your own adventure narrative Halloween has become, which has allowed that franchise to span across multiple generations. Just get Jason slashing again.
The line up for the WERID ASS SHORTS BLOCK at @TellurideHorror did not disappoint. Brilliant, wild, hilarious, and seriously fucked up.
Hope to bump into these mega talented weirdos again soon!

Jason is not the only one with a shack. Crazy Ralph has his own in the woods of Crystal Lake. #BehindTheScenes during filming of Season 1 of the streaming series.

CRYSTAL LAKE Episode 7 feels like what Ryan Murphy would do if he was told to make a Friday the 13th prequel. I don't mean that as a compliment. The modern need to explain things that were best left unexplained can lead to baffling decisions. Jason's new backstory is one of 'em!

Happy birthday, Vin!
I'm not singing!
You'll thank me later. Sooner if you had a frame of reference!

Best movie in the franchise (Part 6) doesn't have a single instance of nudity

I wouldn't say no to having this guy be back as a professional "Argonaut" tracker
Will there be other / more "Argonauts" in #CrystalLake?

Legacy character with the most satisfying arc in CRYSTAL LAKE? Dorf. Great work from Cameron Scoggins on turning a Friday the 13th goofball into a legit character. There's much from the series I won't bring into rewatches of the original movie, but Dorf's backstory I'm keeping.

Linda Cardellini is incredible in this series as is the kid who plays Jason. Undeniable chemistry! I know people love the old Friday films. I can’t say I’m one of them. They are popcorn flicks for me. I thought the @wompstompfilms guys made better films than the actual films.
