Group Farming & Climate-Resilient Agriculture: The Future of Maharashtra! 🌱 Delighted to be a part of 'Satyamev Jayate Farmer Cup Awards 2024 Ceremony' in Balewadi, Pune with Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, thousands of farmers & champions across Maharashtra and team Paani Foundation. For many years, I have been closely observing the incredible initiatives of Paani Foundation. Aamir Khan, known for his perfectionism, initially started Paani Foundation in just 3 talukas, then expanded to 30, then 75, and today, the announcement for its implementation across the entire Maharashtra fills me with immense happiness and pride. Since 2015, Maharashtra has witnessed a Water Janandolan (people’s movement) through the Jalyukt Shivar initiative. During this, Aamir Khan and the Paani Foundation team stepped forward and volunteered. The initial planning and structures for various villages were developed, enabling 20,000 villages across Maharashtra to become self-reliant in tackling water scarcity. This Farmer Cup as the next step has greatly supported the group farming movement. Today, various farmer groups are actively working, and a new policy for group farming will be introduced. Additionally, the necessary assistance and support required for these groups will be provided. The Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjeevani Yojana, launched in collaboration with the World Bank, focuses on climate-resilient agriculture. The first phase, with an investment of ₹4,000 crore, was highly impactful, prompting the World Bank to approve ₹6,000 crore for the second phase. This phase has significantly improved and transformed farming practices. Additionally, villages that were initially not part of the scheme are now requesting inclusion, proving that this initiative has been immensely beneficial for farmers. The goal is to attract investment in farming, as capital expenditure will empower farmers and enhance their capabilities. Group farming will further benefit them by reducing costs and increasing production. Additionally, drip irrigation will be provided to farmers who request it, ensuring sustainable and efficient water use. 💧JalYukt Shivar irrigated 39 lakh hectare land which means it created water storage equivalent to 27 crore tankers in the 1st phase !! Yes ! 27,00,00,000 tankers❗️ Chaired a review meeting today in Mumbai to expedite the implementation of the #JalYuktShivar Abhiyan 2.0. Shantilal ji Mutha, ATE Chandra Foundation's K. Avanti, and officers of various departments were present. #JalYukt Shivar Abhiyan was successfully implemented during 2014 to 2019. Thousands of villages in Maharashtra benefited from this. The Mahayuti Government has now decided to launch JalYukt Shivar Abhiyan 2.0. At present, 5,775 villages have been identified and 1,57,142 works have been approved. Under Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan 2.0, Galmukt Dharan Galyukt Shivar scheme will be implemented too. Along wirh deepening and widening of canals, silt will also be removed on a big scale. With the joint efforts of the citizens and the Government, JalYukt Shivar Abhiyan 2.0 would bring about another water revolution in Maharashtra. The Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan has become a people's movement. Officials are instructed to involve more number of voluntary organizations. The department has been asked to create new posts to ensure sufficient manpower for the program. In phase 1, Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan was implemented in 22,593 villages and 6 lakh 32 thousand 896 works were completed. The initiative resulted in the creation of 27 lakh TCM water storage, which is equivalent to 27 crore tankers, making 20,544 villages water sufficient. Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan has resulted in the creation of 39 lakh hectare of irrigated land. These numbers demonstrate the success of the campaign in the first phase. 💧जलयुक्त शिवारमुळे 39 लाख हेक्टर संरक्षित सिंचन क्षमता म्हणजे एकूण 27 लाख टीसीएम किंवा 27 कोटी टँकरस् एवढी साठवण क्षमता निर्माण ! होय, 27,00,00,000 टँकरस्❗️ जलयुक्त शिवार अभियान 2.0 ची अंमलबजावणी वेगाने व्हावी यासाठी आज सह्याद्री अतिथीगृह, मुंबई येथे आढावा बैठक घेतली. यावेळी भारतीय जैन संघटनेचे संस्थापक अध्यक्ष शांतिलाल जी मुथा, एटीइ चंद्रा फाऊंडेशनच्या के. अवंती व विविध विभागांचे अधिकारी उपस्थित होते. 2014 ते 2019 या काळात जलयुक्त शिवार अभियान यशस्वीरित्या राबविण्यात आले. त्यामुळे महाराष्ट्रातील अनेक गावांना फायदा झाला. या पार्श्वभूमीवर महायुती सरकारने पुन्हा एकदा जलयुक्त शिवार अभियान 2.0 राबविण्याचे ठरविले आहे. सध्या या अभियानांतर्गत 5,775 गावे निवडण्यात आली असून मंजूर कामांची संख्या ही 1 लाख 57 हजार 142 एवढी आहे. जलयुक्त शिवार अभियानांतर्गत गाळमुक्त धरण गाळयुक्त शिवार योजना राबविण्यात येत असून त्या अंतर्गत तलावांसोबतच नाल्यांतील गाळ काढण्याची कामेही आता हाती घेतली जातील. जलयुक्त शिवार ही एक लोकचळवळ झाली असून यासाठी स्वयंसेवी संस्थाची मदत घेण्याच्या तसेच पुरेसे मनुष्यबळ उपलब्ध होण्यासाठी नवीन पदनिर्मिती करण्याच्या सूचना देखील अधिकाऱ्यांना दिल्या. जलयुक्त शिवारच्या पहिल्या टप्प्यामध्ये 22 हजार 593 गावात हे अभियान राबविण्यात आले व त्यामध्ये 6 लाख 32 हजार 896 कामे पूर्ण केली. या अभियानामुळे एकूण 20 हजार 544 गावे जलपरिपूर्ण होऊन 27 लाख टी.सी.एम. म्हणजे 27 कोटी टँकर इतका पाणीसाठा निर्माण झाला आहे. जलयुक्त शिवारच्या कामामुळे 39 लाख हेक्टर संरक्षित सिंचन क्षेत्र निर्माण झाले आहे. 2014 ते 2019 या काळात राबविल्या गेलेल्या अभियानाचे हे यश आहे. सरकार आणि जनतेच्या एकत्रित प्रयत्नांमुळे जलयुक्त शिवार अभियान 2.0 हे पुन्हा एकदा महाराष्ट्रात जलक्रांती घडवेल, हा आम्हाला विश्वास आहे ! @BJS_India #maharashtra #जलयुक्तशिवार #JalYuktShivar #water
