I have been doing a lot more content lately mostly ASMR & tanghulu/gaming. I will start posting it on X more, in an effort to try to grow those genres on the platform; hopefully growing here as well as it expands for wider consumption of long format videos!

Yeah. Wild to think politicians would lie to their constituents. Considering how they are typically so honest.
Data centers drive tax revenue, jobs, community investment, and GDP growth.
And someone these very honest politicians became confused and accidentally mislead the public into waging war against them. 🤪

There is no fact-based argument for a reduction of data center build out due to an already expected split government midterm result or the state voting initiatives.
1. If a local/state gov doesn’t want to make a deal, the cloud/hyperscaler will move to one who will . This isn’t binary, most locals are making deals. The builds over the next 1-1.5yrs are already permitted.
2. If the US as a whole rejects enough land mass where the demand for AI factories cannot be fulfilled in the US, those AI factories will move offshore repeating the prior 3 decades of globalization and hollowing out of our middle class. It was dumb back then and even dumber now given the geopolitical national security implications of AI sovereignty…

We are now firmly at the knee of an exponential curve. Soon the rate of scientific discovery will far outpace society’s ability to digest even a fraction of it. Time to buckle up.
Today Physical Superintelligence PBC is announcing a proof of the Aaronson-Ambainis conjecture, one of the central open problems in quantum complexity, with major implications for quantum computing speedup.

Introducing Theseus Robotics (YC F26).
Our robots restocks supermarket shelves overnight and picks online orders by day, without changing anything in the store.
Lights off at 9pm, shelves full by 9am. Next stop: San Francisco.

The reason humans have such difficulty judging exponential growth is how rarely examples of it appeared in the ancestral environment. As a result, it was absent from our training data. For us, exponential growth is an out-of-distribution problem.
The MSN headline is real (Paul Bond, ~June 2026) but overstates the claim. No public evidence shows the CCP itself spending billions specifically to block US data centers.
What exists: Shanghai-based Neville Roy Singham funneled ~$278-285M into US nonprofits (CodePink, People's Forum etc.) with leadership overlap in the Party for Socialism and Liberation. BPI reports PSL campaigns in 14 states helped delay or block ~$23.6B in projects (10 moratoria, 1 ban, 4 rejections). Chinese state media has amplified anti-data-center messages while heavily subsidizing its own AI buildout. DOJ and Congress have scrutinized the network. Local energy/water concerns also drive much of the opposition independently.

Elon Musk says the lack of popularity for data centers is temporary because of the prosperity that is brought by them:
"The lack of popularity is where there aren't data centers and they think a data center will have a bad effect. Memphis is booming because of @SpaceX. The restaurants are full, the hotels are full, we're paying twice the prevailing wage people were earning before. We've also helped local schools. And the tax revenue the county and city are earnings is tremendous. I think this popularity thing is a temporary concern because there actually is tremendous prosperity that is brought by the data centers. Talk to the people in town and they feel it because their businesses are booming."

Elon just teased SpaceX's next-gen V4 @Starlink satellites:
"Starlink version 4 will have 10x the capability of V3 (which itself is 10x better than V2), especially with the long-distance laser links. Our next-gen laser links will be 10-terabits per second. 100x better. And we'll put 10 of them on."

Why are universities charging students $200,000+ for a degree? There's no justification for that. We need to prop up our future generation, not handicap them.
The traditional model is coming to an end.

Fortunately, I have 35 years of experience in biomedical research (anyone is welcome to check my scientific record), and I have been saying the same thing for years. I completely agree with Demis: we will cure all diseases within 10 years AND reverse aging in approximately 15 years!
I realize I am an exception among my colleagues, but what I find truly messed up is denying people, whether sick or healthy, this very real hope for the future.
Let me explain the main reason why even brilliant scientists and experts struggle to imagine how this could possibly happen. It comes down to extreme cognitive dissonance and the enormous ego of human intelligence: if WE cannot achieve something, we find it inconceivable that MACHINE intelligence could. In fact, the smarter people are, the harder it often becomes for them to accept this possibility, and the more elaborate their coping mechanisms become.
Top mathematicians have just lived through this realization, and physicists will be experiencing it soon.
Yet biologists somehow feel more secure. Not because they are smarter, but because biological systems are vastly more complex. After centuries of research by some of the greatest minds in human history, the idea that AI could solve problems in biology that have eluded us for so long, and do so within just a decade or two, seems utterly inconceivable to them.
Well, they will find out soon enough!
As someone who understands biology deeply, I know that its complexity is not insurmountable. Yes biology IS extraordinarily complex, but it is ultimately a system governed by physical laws and principles that can be decoded, which we have been doing albeit very slowly. Achieving this in a decade will require superintelligence, vastly greater computational power, and enormous amounts of biological data. That is why I believe it will take a decade or two, compared with mathematics and physics, where AI is already making extraordinary progress at a much faster pace.
The fundamental mistake is assuming that the limits of human intelligence are also the limits of intelligence itself. We have spent centuries trying to understand biology with human brains, same substrate it is made of. We are about to bring an entirely different level of intelligence to the problem, one that will eventually surpass the collective intellectual capabilities of all scientists who have ever lived.
As such, I stand 100% behind Demis and others, including Dario Amodei, who have made similar predictions.
Mark my words: the coming revolution in biology and medicine will be unlike anything humanity has ever experienced!
When Demis Hassabis talks about curing all diseases within 10 years, @dawallach says scientists who have spent decades studying these problems aren't necessarily buying it.
"When [scientists] hear AI people say smart things, they go, 'Cool, yeah, let's run it.' Everyone respects Demis."
"But when Demis says we're gonna cure all diseases in 10 years, I think people who have two PhDs and have been doing this for 40 years go, 'Come on, man.'"
"You're giving a sort of false hope to a lot of people who are legitimately out there suffering or have a loved one who's on death's doorstep. That's a little messed up."
