We will never stop fighting for our rights in our country… Today March and March under the SA First forum led by the CEO Mr Xolani Zuma, received a court order confirming that we have been admitted as The Friends of the Court for the Full Bench Matter involving the arrest and detention of Asylum Seekers in South Africa and other applications.
There are two conflicting judgments one by Judge Motha and the other by Judge Wilson (Co-Founder of Seri) and others.
As things stand there are a number of organisations including the United Nations, Lawyers for Human Rights, Kopanang Africa etc. representing Migrants and we are the only Friends of the Court representing the interests of South Africans outside government, probably the first time ever these NGOs are being challenged by a black organisation representing South Africans interests…
May God be with us 🙏🏻🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦Thank you South Africans for your unwavering Support … One day we will ✊🏻🇿🇦🕯️

Government cannot escape responsibility for AGOA termination

It’s now 3 days and I have not seen a single word from Parliament, Government or the Human Rights Commission on this blatant racism and hate speech.
This did not come from some random hater, this is a Member of Parliament. Either I missed it, or they all condone this behavior.

Watch how idiots blame Afriforum and Solidarity for this, whilst Ronald Lamola and the ANC are completely ignored for causing this.
All thanks to the narratives driven by legacy media because they hate the conservative right more than they hate their communist government.
It is regrettable that South African policies led to the termination of AGOA for South Africa. This was a predictable and preventable outcome resulting from the rejection by South Africa's government of real concerns raised by the U.S. Government. I remain hopeful that we can find a path forward to address our larger bilateral concerns, but the South African government must understand the gravity of the situation. We know that if America succeeds, so too will South Africa. This is the partnership I will continue to pursue as expeditiously as possible.

“The responsibility for this exclusion (AGOA) lies squarely with the government, Lamola, and Ramaphosa.”

MEDIA STATEMENT | South African government responsible for AGOA crisis – Lex Libertas
Lex Libertas holds the South African government responsible for the reported decision by the United States to exclude South Africa from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
The South African government knew that this was a possibility. President Cyril Ramaphosa even warned that the country should prepare for the consequences. Yet the government failed to take reasonable steps to prevent this outcome.
These steps included addressing American concerns about incitement to violence against minorities, protecting property rights and promoting free-market policies. Instead, the government continued to prioritise its political ideology over the economic interests of the citizens of South Africa.
'This is shameful. The government anticipated the consequences of its decisions but chose not to address their causes,' said Dr Ernst Roets, Executive Director of Lex Libertas.
According to Lex Libertas, the AGOA crisis illustrates a deeper structural problem: South Africa’s highly centralised political system has become detached from realities at community level and shields those in power from the consequences of their decisions.
'A political system in which ideological commitments consistently outweigh the interests of the people it governs, and in which political leaders are not held accountable for the consequences, is not sustainable. South Africa needs fundamental constitutional reform based on decentralisation and self-governance,' Roets concluded.

AfriForum holds @PresidencyZA @CyrilRamaphosa and other ANC leaders in government directly responsible for South Africa’s removal from AGOA and the job losses that will result.
According to @afriforum, President Ramaphosa and his government’s foreign policy, as well as his announcement on 23 January 2025 that he had signed the Expropriation Act into law, directly prompted President Donald Trump’s announcement just ten days later, on 2 February, that the US would take action against South Africa. AGOA sets explicit requirements for the protection of private property rights and stipulates that beneficiary countries may not undermine US national security or foreign policy interests.
As early as April 2024, AfriForum sent a letter to President Ramaphosa warning him of the risks that the Expropriation Act, which allows for expropriation without compensation, posed to South Africa’s trade relations. Ramaphosa did not even respond to the letter, and the country is now reaping the bitter fruits of his and other ANC leaders’ reckless policies and actions.
Over the past year, AfriForum, @solidariteit and the Solidarity Movement have put forward comprehensive proposals during discussions with the South African Presidency in an effort to resolve the dispute with the US. Solidarity also held extensive discussions with the US in an attempt to save AGOA. Unfortunately, the Presidency disregarded these efforts, and ordinary South Africans are now paying the price.
Ramaphosa and his colleagues in the ANC leadership have placed their own ideology and party interests above the interests of ordinary South Africans.
