Got to love that the $299 Home View supports up to SIX users but Apple STILL won't support multiple users on iPad

Because Apple wants all 6 of them to buy a personal iPad, but have a shared HomeView.

I still don’t get the appeal of having a device like this in my home.

This is such a perplexing thing, knowing exactly how people use iPads

This thing is DOA. It'll go the way of the Facebook Portal. I bet Ternus would have loved to block it.

multiple logins for ipads would be a game changer

Apple knows better. They want to sell you multiple iPads

The iPad situation makes people buy less iPads, not more.

Hey Joanna is connecting two headphones to the Apple TV a new feature? What can’t iPhones do this yet………

Tim Apple, buy everyone an iPad. No multiple users allowed.

Or the fact they’ve have multi user mode for Apple TV for years but it doesn’t support screen time or any kind of account level security.

I don’t want anyone touching the same screen as me!

the family iPad has been a thing for years. if HomeView can recognize six different people, there’s really no excuse for the iPad anymore.

5 too obvious and 10 too big so let’s go with 6
32
it literally makes me think the entire apple mindset in leaderhsip be power tripping over users, like they think they better than their users. I can't really get with their our way or the highway mindset

Good job Apple.

Do you want to sell one iPad per family , or six … 😂

How do you think Apple's gonna make money if each product canibalized each other's function? Ipads have apps and app store. HomeThing accepts up to 6 people. But neither shall ever have each other's capabilities.

Literally nobody is buying this device outside Apple shills. Everyone already has iPhones and iPads (and multiple iPads!). What is Apple thinking here.

It’s not called iHomeView with the ‘i’ indicating it could be personal though for a single user
18
Some many people are about to get caught cheating 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Keep pressing Apple on this. This makes it so much convenient for low-income families that share an iPad.
29
The comparison misses that a shared kitchen display is meant to be shared by design, while multi-user iPad is really about separate private data and storage. Apple may avoid that for account and security reasons, not because it can't copy the feature.
24
iPadOS supports multiuser for education but not for anyone else.
38
Can people without Apple devices use it? Mixed iPhone android household for example. Thought I read it works like wireless CarPlay and needs an iPhone or iPad
20
Cool…put that in your iPad review.

To me it shows that iPad os is ready to support multi user environment and fast, and that this is some bull crap they are doing to make each device personal for profit, the iPad should be multi user like the computer they claim it is. This is criminaly bad look for them

But Joanna come on - no one needs this. Everyone’s similar home device is gathering dust. Just coz it isn’t crazy overpriced like other Apple products doesn’t mean we need to queue up to get a product that isn’t needed. @MKBHD stated this best in his review

I wonder who came up with the number six?

Wish they supported too, but people keep iPads forever, and families buying 1 instead of multiple, would be massive profit loss presumably and storage space concerns. So as much as I wish they offered clearly see why they don't. Vs on a HomeView or Apple TV.

One user only has to think about an iPad and all the storage gets used. And don’t try and fool it, it will know.
50
“You’ll just have to buy one for each person” (innocent skyward glance)

Amazing how Home View at £299 seems fair but Apple TV feels a rip off…
34
Maybe the next iPad series will have multiple users

It’s because iPad is a personal device.
