My latest, "Lady Undertakers of Old Texas" is out now. I did exhaustive research to learn about the personal & professional lives of the 150 or so women undertakers & assistants who worked from 1880-1930. What I found was fascinating. Please check it out! arcadiapublishing.com/produc…

A common misconception. Only the males are Michiganders, the females are Michigeese and children are Michigoslings.
if nothing else i’ve learned that they’re called “michiganders”

i am lowkey obsessed with how supportive the youtube chat is for the Steve Kornacki cam livestream. Steve will be like "ok guys im stepping off camera to drink some water and blow my nose" and people will be like "go hydrate king" and "omg its tissue time"

Meanwhile at the White House
BREAKING: President Donald Trump has issued a formal White House proclamation declaring that outer space is open to human settlement and pledging to establish a permanent American presence beyond Earth. Titled “The American Declaration of Freedom in Space,” the proclamation states that the solar system and all of outer space are open to exploration, development and the establishment of a permanent presence by American citizens. Trump reaffirmed several major U.S. ambitions: • Return American astronauts to the Moon by 2028. • Establish the foundation for a permanent American lunar presence. • Accelerate efforts to send the first American astronauts to Mars. • Expand the commercial space industry and strengthen U.S. national security capabilities in orbit. The declaration emphasizes that space belongs to all humanity, with American exploration and development remaining subject to U.S. law and international obligations. The proclamation was signed November 3, 2026. Full White House declaration: whitehouse.gov/presidential-…

Great example of a core difference between British and American journalism courtesy of the FT. American editor: “What do you mean by ‘seemed to be cantering’? Either it was or it wasn’t. Was it a trot? You sure it was a horse?” British editor: “Great colour on the horse. Tally-ho!”

NBC projects Mark Warner will be reelected as U.S. Senator for the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are not surprised, but we are pleased.

Google is trying to use its monopoly power to force AI into our public schools. No corporation should have the power to dictate how we teach our children.  Our public schools exist to serve students, not to grow the profit margins of Big Tech. nytimes.com/2026/11/03/us/go…

Today, David Walliams lost his bid for a permanent anonymity order at the High Court in London. However, a temporary anonymity order remains applicable to those in England & Wales pending appeal. He wished to prevent being named in a media sexual misconduct investigation.

Journalistic malpractice. @Reuters omits the fact that Trump is not cutting off the money, just moving it. The NDAA will shield US tax dollars to Israel by moving them into the Pentagon procurement process. Less oversight, less transparency More US tax $ flowing to Israel reuters.com/world/middle-eas…

They’re not really cutting aid, just reprogramming it as “joint projects” and hiding it in the defense budget. Americans will be paying more with even less Congressional oversight. What’s actually notable here is Trump acknowledging that aid to Israel is a political loser.
President Trump on U.S. aid to Israel: "We were giving them $4 billion. We are. But it gets cut off at the end of the year. Why? Because they don't need it. "Why should we suffer the slings from lunatics like El-Sayed when they don't need it? It's a bad talking point."

This horrible acting is from the owner of AT Publish and Printing who is a Dan Sullivan advocate. He is just trying to get a media shot about confusion to support the DoJ’s claim.
A look of utter PANIC overtakes a Republican voter in Anchorage, Alaska, as he realizes that he may have voted for the wrong Dan Sullivan. Democrats and their media allies insist there is no confusion among voters. That’s just not true. Watch this man’s facial expressions closely as it sets in that he may have cast his ballot for the spoiler candidate. ALASKA VOTER: “I don’t remember seeing the other Dan Sullivan.” “I totally forgot to look if there was two Dan Sullivans.” NEWSNATION: “The two were together on the ballot.” That’s when it starts to sink in. ALASKA VOTER: “Yeah….” NEWSNATION: “You didn’t notice that?” ALASKA VOTER: “I just…I might be just having a brain freeze. But I don’t remember the second Dan Sullivan.” How many others may have voted for the spoiler?

That no Republican signed this is a disgrace. These people fought the Taliban with us. They don't deserve to die.
66 members of Congress, from both chambers, to Secretaries Rubio and Mullin: cancel the deportation flight. Don’t hand the people who stood with our troops to the Taliban, directly or through Pakistan. Thank you, @RepScottPeters, for leading. #StopTheFlight

I am absolutely sickened by the horrendous comments directed at this heroic young woman who did her duty to the very end. She wasn’t even the Pilot in Command (PIC). Her job at that time was handling all the comms. The male pilot at the controls had already realized the graveness of the situation and had started praying as there was nothing either of them could do to save the aircraft. Do not listen to the cockpit audio of her last minutes, please. It should not even have been made public. Nathalia Filgueiras did her duty under the absolute worst of circumstances. She relayed factual information right up until impact while shoulder-rolling at 60° bank at 600 MPH. The information will be invaluable in the investigation. Even as she knew her short but amazing 20 years of life were about to end, she devoted those last seconds to saving future lives by providing critical information to ground control that will inevitably save lives in the future by preventing these types of crashes. The very definition of Heroism. At only 20 years old. 😭💔🕯️ Please keep her, her family and the other crash victims in your prayers. 💔😭😢🙏

I've been informed that federal election monitors are expected at three sites in Dallas County: a mosque in Richardson, a historically Black church, and a library in the epicenter of LGBTQ culture in Dallas.
If you're in Dallas and you witness a federal election monitor, contact me on Signal at stevanzetti.12 I would like to monitor the monitors

THIS IS INSANE. He drugged her so that he could shove abortion pills into her mouth and vagina. He made an online pharmacy account in her name so he could secretly have the pills shipped to West Point. She also wanted to keep the baby. He even threatened that he would kill himself if she didn't get an abortion. She refused because she wanted to be a mother, so he drugged her to terminate the pregnancy. He left her there, and when she awoke, she called 911. She said she was in and out of consciousness during the attack, and every time she tried to spit the pills out, he would shove them back into her mouth. He then went on to study at CORNELL and graduated with his BA in emergency medicine (ironic) in 2024. Yes, he was enrolled the same year the gang rape happened at the fraternity. He then enrolled at Columbia, where he is STILL enrolled. But it gets crazier because he asked if the judge could delay his sentencing so he could finish his semester at Columbia, and the judge granted the request. This piece of shit is allowed to complete his education after assaulting a woman. Meanwhile, there is no update on whether she even finished her schooling after the assault because of the mental and physical trauma she experienced. This is ANOTHER case of a university being aware of a student sexually assaulting someone and still allowing them to finish their schooling. @Columbia should have expelled him immediately. Why are these schools protecting disgusting men?
