And here we go. Not grey belt because it is derelict land, grey belt because of housing targets
An inspector has allowed outline plans for up to 200 homes on green belt land of which half would be affordable, finding that the site should be considered grey belt and the areaโ€™s housing land supply was less than three years. planningresource.co.uk/articโ€ฆ

It is hugely frustrating to see the person who was the longest serving SoS for Health @Jeremy_Hunt paraded out on almost every media channel as a bastion of patient safety - from maternity, to pandemic preparedness etc. Many of the issues we currently have started on his watch!
Unregulated expansion of PAs started in 2015 It took 10 years to finally get the Leng Review 15m after being published it is still not being followed, sadly there are some who are still pushing for undiagnosed (undifferentiated) patients to be seen first by PAs in GP practices0

A reminder to @RCPhysicians about what Fellows voted for in an EGM IN 2024 And how data was presented- with it's subsequent fall out due to data manipulation- resulting in resignations Lessons from the past: 1. Don't manipulate responses to suit a narrative. 2. Don't ignore Fellows and their views by use of 'process' Yes- standing by that narrative cost me- yet I haven't budged an inch from that philosophy. Less Chicanery, More Leadership. I repeat: The @lengreview clinical protocols for PAs should be rejected -if nothing else- on grounds of presumed COI by contributors. Also- PAs should NOT be seeing undifferentiated patients. Full stop. @Mumtaz_Patel_1 @OGMustafa @HilaryWMedic

If the media had done their jobs over the last 40 years and told the public climate change was real and that this was coming, instead of platforming deniers paid by the fossil fuel industry and presenting environmentalists as fanatics and people with โ€œa new religionโ€, the public might have demanded action and we wouldnโ€™t be here

๐ŸšจCovid Inquiry Exposes Empty โ€˜Protective Ringโ€™ Claim as Care Homes Paid the Price Baroness Hallettโ€™s latest Covid Inquiry report dismantles the myth that ministers ring-fenced care homes from the outset. Far from protected, the sector was sidelined while the NHS was prioritised. More than 43,000 care-home deaths involving Covid followed as untested hospital patients were discharged into homes in March-April 2020, without routine isolation advice. Staff scavenged bin bags and ponchos amid PPE chaos. Families endured isolation that the inquiry brands devastating. Known risks were ignored until it was too late. The claim was rhetoric, not reality. Accountability remains overdue.

2020: Matt Hancock, "Right from the start we've tried to throw a protective ring around our care homes" 2026: Baroness Hallett, "The claim that a so called protective ring has be thrown around care homes right from the start was unfounded. Quite the opposite is true. The adult social care sector as a whole, appeared to be something of an after thought" My view: Matt Hancock said the government had tried to throw a โ€œprotective ringโ€ around care homes. He repeated the claim in Parliament. Nadhim Zahawi later publicly backed it, while Boris Johnson defended the governmentโ€™s handling when challenged. Now Baroness Hallettโ€™s inquiry has rejected the claim as unfounded: care homes were not protected from the start; adult social care was treated as an afterthought. This was more than a failure of words. Patients were discharged from hospitals into care homes without routine testing, and care homes were not advised to isolate those arrivals. Staff faced shortages of PPE and testing, while residents and families bore the consequences. The inquiry describes a system that failed to plan for the risks and failed to put care homes at the centre of its response. What we saw was a collective failureโ€”a collaboration of incompetence at the expense of life. The phrase โ€œprotective ringโ€ offered reassurance while the protections people needed were missing. Thousands of families were left grieving, and care workers were left trying to cope with the consequences. Those responsible should face the findings honestly, explain how this happened and make sure the lessons lead to change. But the question remains, why is there almost no accountability for the actions government ministers took during covid?

Again @mhclg @andyburnham where is the water ๐Ÿ’ฆ supply coming from for the hundreds of AI data centres and 1.5m extra homes? How can the chalk aquifers recharge when theyโ€™re covered in concrete? Where are the new reservoirs? Where is the common sense? Itโ€™s time your brains engage, get a handle on whatโ€™s getting built, and how you can deliver water for a fast growing population!!
Itโ€™s quite simple..no rain means no water ๐Ÿ’ฆ supplyโ€ฆhow does this government intend to supply water to 1.5m extra homes and god knows how many AI data centres? Especially in the highly populated and already severely water stressed south east and east of England? @AngelaRayner @KanishkaNarayan share.google/JfIZ8FQa7Rs8yWYโ€ฆ

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Allowing this dead-company-walking to be bailed out again, instead of taking it into Special Administration and then permanent public ownership, would be a disgrace and a betrayal by the Andy Burnham government Enough is enough.

๐Ÿšจ ยฃ5 BILLION SPENT. BUT IS THE THAMES ANY CLEANER? Despite London's ยฃ5bn Thames Tideway Tunnel being built to tackle sewage pollution, independent testing by @ReachBoat has found no clear improvement in E. coli levels.
