I remember a professor in grad school giving me around 100+ negative / corrective comments and zero praise on a paper.
Very few in the academy today have the spine, intellect, and care required to give such a generous gift.
I sometimes suspect that, in certain fundamental and humanistic (dare I say "trivial"?) respects, comparing @WYOCathCollege's standards to those of Harvard is an instance of "punching down."

🚨🚨🚨 Parents I’ve got news for you. Even if your child gets extra time, know that EVERY child in that class now gets extra time. Teachers are over trying to figure out who gets what for testing, so they just give the exam and students have as long as they need. Those that finish early usually just read or play on their device. “Timed” classroom tests no longer exist and as far as standardized tests, the data shows that extra time does NOT increase scores for those students. It’s anecdotal. So save yourself the paperwork and hassle and just make sure your child understands how to study for a test. And yes, I know there are specific special education needs but again everyone is getting the accommodation now.
