In Feb 2022 then @LibDems spokesperson for health @libdemdaisy said that conversion therapy included talking therapies in "warnings" by "medical institutions and professional bodies." (which ones?)
Since the Cass Review advocates for talking therapies as first line therapy for children with gender dysphoria, has Daisy changed her mind? What is her position now on talking therapies for children with gender dysphoria? Does Daisy think social workers and teachers should be criminalised under the new Conversion Practices bill for advocating for talking therapies for children and parents should be if they take their children for talking therapy?
It would be good to hear the Lib Dem deputy leader's stance on this now and whether the Cass Review (which she has never said if she accepts) has altered her thinking on the matter.
ps in the below letter it is unclear what "safe and effective counselling" means if it does not include "talking therapies" unless Daisy meant affirmation only therapy (and what evidence base she is relying on to call that "safe and effective"?)

The draft Conversion Practices bill is an appalling piece of legislation. If it is passed it will criminalise parents, threaten free speech, prevent ethical therapy and harm the LGB youth it claims to protect. It will be Labour’s Section 28 and the results of it will follow them around like a bad smell for years. Not sure if Mr Burnham would want that as a legacy, but who knows.

This is the greatest medical scandal of our lifetime.
‘In the financial year 2024-25, WellBN issued hormone prescriptions to close to 1,100 individuals under the age of 25. At least 97 were under 18. That amounted to 15 per cent of all testosterone prescriptions issued for under-18s across the whole of London and the southeast. For 18 to 20-year-olds, the figure was a quarter.’
