What a courageous woman Sarah Redvers is.
This is the greatest medical scandal of our lifetime.
‘In the financial year 2024-25, WellBN issued hormone prescriptions to close to 1,100 individuals under the age of 25. At least 97 were under 18. That amounted to 15 per cent of all testosterone prescriptions issued for under-18s across the whole of London and the southeast. For 18 to 20-year-olds, the figure was a quarter.’
Thank you @hannahsbee for your consistent scrutiny.

A science teacher says he wants to give ‘transphobes a Halloween fright’ at parkrun.
Quoting Macbeth, he’s announced plans for a rival running group to @RRRunnersUK. The club was launched last month to “peacefully protest” parkrun policy - which still allows men to ‘self-ID’ into the women’s category.
One prospective supporter on Reddit says it would be ‘extra fun to bait the bigots’.
But given the new club is due to launch on Halloween, things seem remarkably, um, quiet out there.
Ten Substack likes, three restacks and three public expressions of interest on Reddit.
But there’s still time…

I ran today in the same parkrun as a man that runs in the female category. He is also in the same age group category as myself and another woman 75-80.
None of us women are breaking records, we just want parkrun to be fair to us.

It really is this simple @parkrunUK 👇. Blokes get a chance to compare their times. Even engage in a little friendly competition. Why don’t female runners get the same?
Love @parkrunUK! I’d love it even more if results were fair for women and girls. I know it’s not a race, but I enjoy comparing my time with other women my age. Sex matters to running performance, so why not reflect that in the results?

Dr Sarah Redvers on @BBCNews this evening about her constructive dismissal employment tribunal case against (what is now) @NHSSurreySussex involving @brightwellbeing over ignored child safeguarding concerns:

⏰️ Today marks 7 days since NHS England published it's Privacy, dignity and safety in hospital accommodation and NHS staff facilities guidance
📢SEEN in Health members are still reporting near-silence from their organisations, except from Unions opposing the implementation of the law.
⁉️ still no apologies or offer of support for staff silenced & disciplined for raising their head above the parapet & pointing out unlawful mixed-sex policies in their workplace.
⚠️ Still no clarity on responsibilities or timelines for legal compliance of patient accommodation or staff facilities.
📰 Local communication strategies, woefully slow to acknowledge the changes required to meet legal compliance within organisations
⚖️ NHS staff need to know the policies & guidelines that have been in place and enforced for years are unlawful and are a safeguarding risk.
🚨 Senior management and boards must be held to account for continuing to not inform staff of the risk of following unlawful policies & guidelines

Good for @jan_murray for standing her ground and pursuing this. It takes courage and persistence to secure such an apology. A significant victory for sex-realist views, fairness and free speech.

@AndreaEganGS @unisontheunion – SEX MATTERS IN SAFEGUARDING.*
A female-born transgender patient was raped on a male psychiatric ward. The perpetrator was convicted.
Andrea Egan, you have challenged sex-based protections. This case demonstrates the consequences when sex and vulnerability are not adequately considered in ward placement.
Why campaign against guidance that makes biological sex the default? 1/5

@unisontheunion– But where are women's rights?
U – Undermining women's rights to single-sex spaces.
N – No recognition of women's safety, dignity or privacy.
I – Ignoring the concerns of female patients and NHS staff.
S – Supporting gender recognition while sidelining sex-based rights.
O – Overlooking the Equality Act protections afforded to women.
N – No mention of how women's rights will be protected.
SEEN in Health asks: @AndreaEganGS, where do women feature in UNISON's priorities?

SEEN in Health welcomes the news that @NHSEngland will shortly publish guidance for NHS staff and patients regarding single-sex spaces.
This should have happened over 17 months ago, following the Supreme Court judgment clarifying the meaning of sex for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010.
We look forward to reviewing these documents shortly. telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

That’s me! I ran a massive personal best for my first ever sub 1:09 half marathon, the performance of my life.
I now keep a low profile on X but want to say a big thank you to everyone for the huge amount of support you have given me on and off X. It means the world to me.
Spotted! At Oxford Half Marathon and what’s that I see near the front of the pack? Only a Reality Rules Runners UK vest!
Go @RRRunnersUK

It’s so odd, isn’t it? Watching footage of a drag artist wandering around the BBC Look North office, going from desk to desk, gently scolding members of staff in a performance that doesn’t strike me as particularly funny, I couldn’t help wondering why this sort of thing is considered perfectly acceptable.
Imagine someone dressing up as a crude caricature of a Chinese person and going around making racially stereotypical jokes. There would quite rightly be outrage. Blackface would be utterly unthinkable, and you’d probably be on rocky ground even putting on a kilt and pretending to be a drunken Scotsman.
Yet dressing up as an exaggerated, often grotesque caricature of a woman is apparently not just acceptable but something to be celebrated.
It genuinely feels as though women are the last group it’s still permissible to mock and degrade. And while misogyny is hardly confined to one side of the political spectrum, what I find particularly astonishing is that this sort of thing is enthusiastically embraced by the supposedly progressive left.
Women are being attacked from both sides. On the one hand, there’s the familiar misogyny of right-wing incel lunatics. On the other, there’s a progressive movement that celebrates exaggerated stereotypes of femininity as portrayed by men while simultaneously treating the biological reality of being an actual woman as though it’s some sort of mutable, contested concept.
And here we have the BBC, an organisation that prides itself on its supposedly enlightened values, apparently happy to indulge in precisely this sort of thing.
I sometimes feel as though I’m trapped in a fever dream. How on earth did the modern left, which once regarded itself as the champion of women’s rights, become so spectacularly regressive?

Returned to @parkrunUK as a club runner with @RRRunnersUK this morning. Loved it. Sadly I had joined on my phone app and not on my laptop so my club affiliation hasn't shown up on the results page today. Chalk that one up to not reading the instructions properly! Fixed I hope.

Men are not women. That's not bigotry as much as you would like to make it so. A man can make an identity claim & you can't force others to participate in his fantasy. They could have created a separate category but forcing this idea on women is totalitarian.
